I've been building 4 more of the "Test Monkey" pedalboards. One is going out to a friend today, for him to beat up. These are still in the refinment stage. I'm working on different finishing, and design ideas. I'll post more PIX when I get the chance to actually finish these.

Here's a link to an older thread, where I had built the first "Test Monkey".

http://musictoyz.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7056040191/m/5261017433

That board has worked GREAT! But, I have refined the design. These refinements, are not earth-shaking. But, they are all thought out. All useful.
There are more ideas, that will be tried. I have 3 new ways of attaching pedals, that I want to try. All 3 are unique. I will be trying them all. If one of them works exceptionally well, I'll be sure to update with PIX.

Wow, that looks a lot like a board that I built in the late 80's. I incorporated some hinges into the rear end, and used the recessed area for storage. The thing weighed a friggin' ton (even without stuff in 'storage'), so I eventually scrapped it... not saying that's what you should do!

I still dig an angled board, but with less of an acute angle. I've been slightly elevating my boards by placing rubber doorstops underneath the backside (idea courtesy of forumite jonc - thanks again, Jon).

I have drawn some detailed plans for this. When I finish the revisions, I'll post the plans for anyone who want them. This board is only about 2 lbs., without pedals. I started to put a bottom on it. But, I really didn't need one, and wanted it to be light. There will be more improved/refined designs coming. Keep the input coming. I like the idea of the hinges. Still tinkering..... (After all, these are "Test Monkeys"! Big Grin
