Destination Rotation landed ....
Once again I paid for the 2 day shipping and it was on my doorstep in.....2 Days!!!! thanks Toyz !!!!! Its a Small/Tall box, same footprint as most pedals that use the Hammond box (Menatone,Voodoo labs, etc.), but its twice as tall, which is good as many people would put this on the back line of the big board and its easy to step over the front line and hit either stomper,,,pleasant suprise.... Well built, quality parts throughout and after looking on the inside, I can see why its expensive- LOTS of wire and opamps at play ..... Pretty straight forward pedal... basically on/off and fast/slow speed......there are switches that optimise it for Keys or Guitar , a drive switch and pot, and a Flat/Biamp switch, two--leds for on and speed,,,,,,,, Ok Ok whats it sound like ??? Well it sounds very good- the low speed has the swirly phaser/chorus that does a pretty good imitation,,,,,,,,but its best move is the Ramping and the High speed ( dead on Cold Shot!) ,,, the speeds and the ramping are set just right..... There is the lowend thump (almost too much) but its certainly there, and it is analog so it rides well with our drive pedal.... The drive on the unit is good but I prefered a pedal in front of it for that...... Now the really cool thing about the pedal is the 'Biamp' feature- true stereo, infact the highs and lows rotate out of phase with each other , so you get some of that 'swimming' feel...........its a great imitation---- but its still a simulator and any pedal will be a compromise if youve ever heard the real thing and really love stereo images from your rig....... So if the ramping up and down is really important to you but you have no room to spare on your board you will appreciate this pedal. |

How does the DR compare to other Leslie sims you've tried?
I'm in a mode where I need to hear some real feedback on these things! just acquired a VOCE spin and a Multivox Fullrotor from the 70's in search of my ultimate leslie or vibe sound (yes-I know they are different) and I also have a Foxrox Captain Coconut 2 that replaced my Dunlop Univibe. I need someone to compare the Dest. Rotation to an H&k tube Rotosphere and the VOCE or something else (even a Korg G4)!? If anyone has any clips of the G4 I'd love to hear them! Thanks, the soujourner Mmmmm....Forbidden Donut....sacrelicious.... |
