Last week my Blues Pro arrived! Thanks
Teddy! I am very pleased with the sound of this pedal! I like a fat sound with some bass.
This unit does that and more! It has plenty of gain for my purposes and the tone control is
very interactive. With gain at a minimal setting, there is a nice full and clean tone. It seems to add a bit of mid range, but not that TS-9 hump. As the gain is increased, some bite
and strong note articulation is present.
For the money, this is one great little pedal! It's an MXR sized enclosure with input and output toward the top of the pedal, which is nice for tight board space. It's well built and has a socketed IC, which can be changed. I tried a TL072 but went back to the 4558 chip that came with it.
It's got a classy cobalt blue finish and nice silk screened logos. The switch is solid,
it's true by-pass and has the 2.1 mm neg tip 9volt option.
I'm running a Keeley comp before it, with almost no compression and gain about 1/2 way and
an RC Booster after gain min. and volume 1/2-or
so,bass at notch and treble at 2 o'clock. This
is a basic tone for rhythm and many leads, but of
course gain can be added for stronger leads.
My thanks to Michael for making such a stellar pedal and Teddy for bringing it to me.

I love my Blues Pro.Great versatile pedal better than the TS-9 or 808 and cost less I agree .I use it so many ways .Sounds great overdriveing the amp with the clean or dirty channels on also bootsing other pedals too like HBE germania and the Fulltone Soul Bender.

Has anybody tried stacking one with a Timmy? I'm thinking of getting one and using it for leads with the Timmy for some crunch.

I use my Blues Pro for boosting my leads.I boost both channels on my amp and a Full Tone Soul Bender or Home brew electonic Germania .I get over the top distortion with all three pedals on and my amp distortion channel .It works well with other pedals.

I have a Timmy coming and will let you know how they stack. I put a 1458 chip in the Pro and
like the results, although the stock 4558D sounds
great and might have just a bit more edge. I like to leave it on and run the gain near minimal for a fat sound. Great pedal!

ALright...The Timmy pedal came in yesterday and
it's on the board after the Blues Pro and a Keeley Comp. I've been running the Timmy with both dip switches off, treble and bass at 7 (max)
volume 2:30-3:00 o' and gain min. to 9 o'. It
sounds superb! For a clean sound, The Timmy and Keeley comp(level just above unity and near
min. comp) together. The comp does take a small amount of the treble, which takes any ice
pick highs. It smooths out the very few rough
edges from the Timmy's boosting and makes a sweet sounding, full and rich clean sound! The
Blues Pro can be added with a bit of gain for leads, or set to near min, gain for a very fat
blues tone. Several users have complained that
the Timmy and Pro,or Timmy stacked with other
pedals doesn't work well. Perhaps true, if gains are set to high. But, with Timmy gain in the lower settings, things are very good in the world of pedals and tone! Paul Cochrane has made on incredible pedal here! Thanks Paul!
