First reviews I think-here goes...
First let me give you what I was testing these pedals with and tell you the main reasons that I have for wanting a treble boost in the first place.
57 reissue Les Paul goldtop into a 1959 plexi reissue with 4/12 1960 A cab.
I have never really liked my first channel too much on the plexi.I seem to always go into channel two and jump the two low input to channel one's high input and go from there, also to protect every living creatures hearing for miles around I also use a THD hotplate to lower things down a bit.
So not happy with the treble as is, plugged into the second high channel with prescence on 2,bass on six,mid on seven treble on three 'vol on 6 with the THD on -eight ...
First up is the BSM HS custom.
This is my pick of the bunch for the tone I was looking for.It overdrives the Marshall into real singing highs without being offensive until the side mounted control knob is set to around 9(10 being maxed 0 being er nothing)Incredible harmonics with this one.I really like the pedal set as with the RM model around half way or things can get a little out of hand.If anyone is familiar with the old Judas Priest records ,I think that this pedal maybe the way to go.
As far as workmanship and quality go ,this line of pedals seem to be very sturdy as you would expect from a small specialist company. It really takes up no room on your board, same size as the Z Vex pedals.
Now with this kind of set up I would say that you can really feel your way around the tone so well.I think that it really opens up the use of your tone and vol controls of your guitar.I cant say that there is not a bad tone to be had,but as the fiddling and faffing that I always seem to be doing to my pedalboard via fuzzes and o'drives into smaller amps is getting to be a bit of a chore, this pedal really is a welcome change.
In the next few days I will post reviews on the other BSM pedals.
I'm going to try to keep nuetral with the thers, but let it be noted that the Hs Custom is the keeper for me.
