Hi, experts out there. Anyone who can tell me which year the first Boss PH-1's and the first Boss CE-1's were sold.

I've got a Boss CE-2 chorus pedal. I've played all of the following: Fulltone Choralflange, vintage Ibanez chorus, Danelectro CoolCat, Boss Super Chorus, and the H2O. It's my favorite both for it's rich and subtle sound and for it's simplicity. There is a very very very slight edginess that I could do without, but maybe I'm wrong. By far, the best I've played. Catch phrase: "But don't take my word for it."

I hear ya.
I've also got a MIJ Boss Ce-2 Chorus I wouldn't trade for anything. I've been through a ton of boutique pedals but I find myself eventually returning to the Boss pedals most of the time. I swear the SD-1 Super Overdrive (MIJ) is one of the last best values out there IMO.
.. just my 02/100

Out of all the Boss Pedals I own the CE-2 and SD-1 always return to my board.

I love my CE-2, and I think it sounds best with a "mildly dark" tone. Just roll off the highs on your amp, and you get a much smoother chorus sound.

I have been using the Boss GT-6. Though it is a digital simulator pedal it does a lot for the money. If you don't mind a touch of natural tone loss in your amp this is a great all around multi-effect/amp simulator. Though I feel it would never replace individual high quality analog pedals.

1st off...it is a lovely pink-purple color ...

all analog.
4 presets. no controls other than the 4 presets and a switch.

usually, I refrain from preset pedals as I like to tweak.

This and a SHO are my exceptions.

If one or more of the 4 presets fits for you, then this is an amazing pedal. just exquisite tonal quality, lush, clean, mostly tonally transparent. my only complaint is that it boosts the signal volume a bit when engaged. (probably the buffer?)

the DC2 is especially nice live as it is utterly fool-proof. you have four choices and a switch...

I dumped my CE-5 immediately after getting this.
('boo boo' the CE-5!!! )

They dont make them anymore.
All were made in Japan.

an exceptional pedal from Boss.
goes used for $80-130+...
