BOSS EH-2 ENHANCER

I've heard people say this pedal doesn't do anything, but it does. I really like it on clean stuff. It's sort of like a sonic maximizer or aural exciter but in pedal form. You can't beat the price, I got mine for $19.99 new many years ago, used even less. I'm currently using it to brighten up a cab simulator direct box(Cabtone) into a mixer. The tone without the EH-2 is somewhat dark but it livens up when the Enhancer is engaged.

Boss CE2 Made in Taiwan

Myth buster

I bought this pedal a year ago for £25 in mint condition, got bored and lent it so a mate. Read about a 'mod' so got it back and tried it.

The CE2 has an internal trimpot that gives 'more' or 'less' chorus. The range should be enough for most people to adjust to taste. Take the back off, hook it up and use a scredwriver on the trim pot whilst playing open strings, then when it sounds 'better' box it up again.

With 'proper' adjustment my CE2 chorus is a keeper. The choral flange or ? is probably better but as I use chorus about 6 times a year on fretless or home recording my guitar £25 seems a better proposition.

1st off...it is a lovely pink-purple color Big Grin...

all analog.
4 presets. no controls other than the 4 presets and a switch.

usually, I refrain from preset pedals as I like to tweak.

This and a SHO are my exceptions.

If one or more of the 4 presets fits for you, then this is an amazing pedal. just exquisite tonal quality, lush, clean, mostly tonally transparent. my only complaint is that it boosts the signal volume a bit when engaged. (probably the buffer?)

the DC2 is especially nice live as it is utterly fool-proof. you have four choices and a switch... Wink

I dumped my CE-5 immediately after getting this.
('boo boo' the CE-5!!! Eek)

They dont make them anymore.
All were made in Japan.

an exceptional pedal from Boss.
goes used for $80-130+...

With the release of the DD-6,they stop selling the DD-5.It's sad. It's unfair in my opinion. But I'll still find one.

let see:
FZ-3 Fuzz

Silicon fuzz unit.. Great paint job, vol tone level knobs..

I've had a love hate relationship with this pedal since i got it. It's on my board now so we will see if it stays..

Soundwise it never really cleans up, and adds treble as you run the gain up. No sound really jump out as say thats a keeper, but nothing sounds bad. Might just be that im a fan of germanium.... Sounds great on the bridge pickup of my Jazzmaster, like it was made for it. Gain a little over 3/4 and tone slightly right of tap dead center, I got my "Floyd Nile Song" tone. I might try running a carbon battery in it and see if that does anything, but all in all. Its a small sturdy pedal, that I can take to jams or little gigs, and not worry about it getting kicked drinks spilled on it etc..

BTW does anyone know if the CH-1 has trim pot as well? could stand being a little bit more chorused. And is this the "just like heaven" pedal or was smith still using a CE-3 at that point?
