Teese RMC1 Alternate Tuning.

After listening to John La Grassa's sound file I decided to have my RMC1 re-tuned. Geoffrey Teese is a genius! The volume boost is still there. The sweep on the bass end is shortened up. A bit more bite at the top. The sweet spot and this pedal is still very vocal. It plays well with every OD I own. With high gain I could get the Cry Baby treble screech, which I love. With light OD I set the pedal to treble and left it, added reverb to it and got a great Born Under A Bad Sign - Cream sound from it. Everything I did to RMC1 was useable. This is real good. The best review is still LaGrassa's sound file. Plus the misses loves it. She told me twice. And one more time right now, "I like that sound." That is what she just said. [Smile]

In conclusion:
I threw all my ODs at it, and each type of sound and my RMC1 had a
different emotional feel to it. This is gonna to be a great tool for expression.

RMC1:
best wah for the money
very vocal, more sweep, more expression than run-of-the-mill wahs, including Buddah

I also have one and I'm thinking about selling it for the 2 or Clyde. What tweaks did you do? I never opened mine up. Not sure how long ago Ken posted the reply about the sound files, but Ken if you're still around, pls add some insight. That's the thing about this site- you never know how old the posts are, Too many categories and not enough info on the posts. I've found myself repling to replies I posted months ago and not even noticing until I see them up there.

I also have the RMC1. I do like it, but I felt it lacks the range and is too limited near the top postion. I know there are tweaks to be had, but I've been reluctant to try them. What did you do?

Teese Wizard Wah!!! I've had it for 3 months and LOVE it!! I almost bought the RMC1 which is also supposed to be great but the Wizard wah had just been released and Geoffrey recommended the Wiz. It is the most musical wah I've ever played. I can get everything from reggae to funky wakka wakkas to slightly wah-d note bends to underwater noises and intense solos.

I got my Wizard Wah about 3-4 weeks ago. I was insantly blown away by how smooth it was. Very fat sounding and the highs don't peel your forehead off. It has a nice vol boost and you don't get lost in the mix. I have gigged w/ it once(the week I got it) and it works like a charm. I used an Am Strat and a bf Pro Reverb. My od's are: Pedalworx Texas Two Step, Banzai FB1, McFuzz and BJF Dyna Red. It worked beautifully w/ all of them except the McFuzz. They did not get along at all. I tried switching the order but they just wouldn't cooperate. Anyway, we played some Hendrix, Hey Joe and Watchtower, and the WW just killed! We also did Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On". That's the best that song's ever sounded period. I worked the amp volume up to 4.5-5 (which is pretty freakin loud imo) by the end of the night and the highs from the wah were still nice and smooth. I would highly recommend one of these to anyone looking for a top quality, versatile wah.

Wizard Wah all the way ! Very smooth, perfectly balanced highs AND lows: great !
I don't use it with extremely high gain settings, I prefer more 'open' overdrive.
Using a lot of Toyz between two Godins LGX and LG SP90) and a Rivera R55. The wah combines equally good with the amp's overdrive and OD-pedals.

I had the RMC3 and I loved it. Really got that Hendrix sound on VooDoo Child. Of course You could get other sounds too. However My oldest Son wanted a sax real bad so I traded it and some other gear to help His dream come true. Now I plan to replace the pot in My Dunlop with a Fulltone pot! Smile

So I settled for an RMC3, since the Wizards constant volume bump and slightly overwhelming bass-side on a clean channel started to annoy me.... how easily one gets spoiled Roll Eyes
But anyway: it's great ! I could really tinker a sound of my own liking !
Not too much bass, "on top of the Q-curve sound" rather low, followed by a rather long, voxy smooth sweep all the way up to clear strong highs.
I found the parameters not to be intimidating at all. Simply change one at a time to it's full extent both high and low and you will understand it's effect on the sound. "Mid" and "Low" speak for themselves, but what you can achieve by messing around with them is something you really have to try. There may be some unexpected decisions to be made Smile
When I finished screwing around with the parameters, I had reached a setting I didn't anticipate at all, but it sounded exactly like I wanted the wah to do !
