Here's a pic of my '78 Deluxe Reverb, yes it was a SilverFace. The cab is a Crusty cab (over at the Weber boards). The faceplate is a Rodger's plate. And the Reverb Unit is a RI, I got it last week. Fun, fun, fun! Sorry for the lack of pedal content Big Grin

I think I paid 450.00 for it (maybe less). I did'nt do much to it other than remove the "boost" and change some caps and a fresh set of tubes. Oh and a different speaker, I put it a old NOS Mojo V30, it's not the same as the new ones. It's not quite to spec as a the Celestion V30. I've considered rebuilding it to BF specs but it soounds great as is so why bother with perfection? Wink

Looks waaay cool. That must have been quite a project.

Why the Reverb Tank? - is the amp actually a Deluxe (no reverb)?

No it was'nt too bad, just a matter of getting the parts together. It sat faceless for about a year, but I used it anyway. As for the Reverb Tank, I just got it about a week ago and I was toying with it WITH the DR. The Verb on the DR is fine, I got the tank to use with my Z-28.

Hello

How does the V 30 perform ?

Have you ever compared it to a Weber alnico speaker?

Has the V 30 a alnico magnet ?

Regards

It's not your typical V30, it's got a better bottom and more warmth. It's a older NOS Mojo V30 (before it was sold to it's current owners). I would only use a Ceramic speaker in a low powered amp such as the DR. And I wouldn't go less than 50 watts. I hear the Weber Blue Pup 12" is a great speaker in the DR. I had a Jensen RI C12N and it sucked really bad, I could'nt get any volume out of the DR, just speaker break up.

Lefty

Have you compared the V30 and the Blue pup ?

Have you ever had any thought son this matter ?

Presently I am building a BF Deluxe and I am wondering if I should use the V30 that I own or get the Blue pup ?

It is presently 10 years old and has not been used much.

Regards
