This is a really great sounding pedal! I found it really cheap so I thought I would try it. What did I have to lose, right?
The controls are a bit weird but nothing that bad. The gain doesn't really give anything up until the very end, and then all the OD is there. So I run it with the gain full on, and the volume on unity, and the tone at about 3 o'clock. This is a very light OD that is great at making my 66 sound like it's cranked when it's really only starting to give it up. It doesn't seem to sound too good through my Budda though. Not bad, but not great either. It works very good with the KT66's on my Dr Z though. It doesn't seem to compress too much either. The dynamics of my 66 were still very much intact. It sounds like it's name soif you're looking for raging distortion or SRV tones I don't think that this is the pedal for you. But if you like old scholl British OD like I do then this pedal is worth a shot. This big, ugly thing has earned itself a spot on my board. Lawrence D. |
