this is actually a reply I wrote to Buzz-e regarding T-rex pedals but i'll post here too as a sort of review:
HI, I'm from Sweden. Over here there are som stores that carry the T-Rex line of pedals. Although I don't own any of their products, I have played the Alberta, Mudhoney and the Comp-Nova in the store for about an hour each on different occasions. The test amp was a Fender custom "Vibrolux", and the guitar was a strat. First of all the "Mudhoney". In BOOST mode at about 12'o clock on the gain control, you get a very saturated sound. The sound is muddy, but in a good and tight way, if that makes any sense. The low end growl and overall feel is way more musical than a Big Muff for example. In BOOST OFF mode you get a very good clean boost, although not as neutral maybe, as a Klon. In OFF mode the gain control pot changes its function. It's either full on or full off, which gives you a clean or slightly overdriven sound. The "Alberta" is T-Rex TS-808 type of pedal. The gain control has about the same range as a 808 although the attack sounds slightly more dirty on the alberta. It is yet very transparent. There is a mid boost to the sound, but no bass loss. This one's my favourite, it's just a very musical warm overdrive... The "Comp-Nova" is a very good compressor pedal. It's doesn't colour the sound as much as a MXR Dyna comp. It has that studio quality to it, yet it seems perfectly calibrated for guitar. I'm not a very experienced guitar compressor user, but this is the one I'd go for if I was to buy one... The T-Rex pedals are very well built. They have the input, output and 9V jacks on top instead of the sides, which saves pedalboard space. Good Danish quality, simply great pedals. I'm gonna purchase the Alberta soon, and I'll post a review as soon as I got more experience with it. I'm not connected to the T-Rex company or the stores who sells them in any way.
