I received my Maxon ROD881 today and...WOW!! My search is OVER! In the last 2 yrs., I've tried a Guyatone Mini O.D., Ibanez TK999us, Reverend Drivetrain II(w/no mod, sent the modded one back), Barber Direct Drive SS, Ibanez
TS-9DX, JT Valveboy, Fulltone Distortion Pro and FINALLY the Maxon ROD 881!
I search is over, I love this pedal!! I really liked the TK999us, so I decided to try the Maxon, since they were made by the same company(duh) and I'm glad I did! I just wish I'd tried it sooner, instead of going through all of these other pedals. The Reverend Drivetrain is a great pedal too. It will stay on my pedalboard, for now, as an extra boost to REALLY put the Maxon over the top. The Maxon already has a great boost so I may find out that I don't need the Drivetrain in there at all,..We'll see.
