the Silouette is a beauty, wish I could afford another axe. I can attest how good they play, I had one, and damn me for ever getting rid of it.

Thanks Jaydee, it really is a great axe. Somebody is going to get a real gem here with this one.

I'm reducing the price to $749 + $35 S&H.

Here are more details on the guitar:

I am the original owner of this guitar. Serial # G33858. I purchased it in about June of this year. It has never been gigged and is in near-mint condition, with only some minor pick-rash below the pickguard (you need direct light and a good eye to even see it). Information about this model can be found at: http://www.ernieball.com/mmonline/specs/instruments_silhspecial.html

This guitar is not “stock”. I did not care for the stock pickups, and the complex EBMM Silent Circuit would have made changing the pups a real pain, so I gutted the guitar. I completely re-wired it like a Fender Strat except that I used 500K pots and a .022 microfarad Orange Drop cap. I also used a U.S. made CRL switch and wired the bridge humbucker so that it splits at the bridge/middle slot, just like the original wiring did. I used copper shielding tape with conductive adhesive to double-shield the cavity.

A guitar of this caliber deserves some nice boutique pickups: they are a Genesis “Mr. Brownie” in the bridge, and a pair of Lollar “Blondes” in the middle and neck positions. The tone far surpasses that of the original Dimarzio’s in my humble opinion – well worth the work and a tiny bit of hum.

Music Man hard shell ABS case included.
