I just bought a house so I'm thinning the amp herd for some home improvement fundage. It's a 135W master vol model. This particular model was made from '77 to early '80, the tranny and speaker date codes on this are from mid 1977. This thing is ridiculously loud!! Sounds like the coming of the Apocalypse. Stays very clean when cranked, unless you have super high output pups. Pretty pedal friendly too. I used it occasionally in the studio and several times a week at church for about 9 months.

It's in great shape, I'd say a 8.5-9.0/10. There's a few minor scuffs on the tolex and some scratches around the input jacks. Overall killer shape for 30 yrs old. One speaker is the original Rola, the other one has been replaced w/ an early 2000's Fender/Eminince Special Design. I have the other original speaker, it works , but needs to be reconed (voice coil rubs). I'll include it for another $25 (shipped and paypalled).

The amp has been completely recapped w/ Atoms (except for 2 IC filter caps) and Orange Drops. Absolutely zero hum, and it's a shade warmer to my ear w/ the Orange Drops in it now. I put a green jewel light on it, don't have the original anymore. Also the upper back panel is included, I just took it off for the photo.

No issues at all, gave it a good going over and played thru it for about an hour today just to double check. The tubes are fairly new GT6L6S's w/ approx 5 hrs on them. Rev works great. Wasn't able to check the tremolo (no footswitch), but it worked the last time I tried it. It comes w/ a super-nice padded cover that has a large zip-up pocket on it.

Email me at gbrogden1 AT comcast.net if you have any questions.

$On Hold gets it shipped to your door in the lower 48. I prefer paypal and will eat the fees. No trades please!!

Keep an eye out as I may be adding my '66 Pro Rev if the current local deal on it falls thru.

The Showman is an early 1963 BF transitional model. The circuit is a strange cross between a 6G14-A and an AA763, with no Middle or Presence controls, and a unique bias circuit.
The tubes are 7355's which Fender used for a few months from '62-'63, IIRC. Tonally they are almost identical to a 6V6, but a little ballsier. I have done a (very) little bit of research on this particular amp and have only heard of 2 others like it. One other identical '63 BF and one '63 in late-blond cosmetics. The Blonde sold for about $1400 on the 'Bay for the head alone.

No, the tubes are not available everywhere, but I've never had any problem hunting them down. They usually run about $75-$100 a quartet. The old ones are toast so I'm putting in a new NOS set and burning them in today and tomorrow so that the buyer doesn't have to mess w/ it (and to make sure the tubes are ok).

It was not working when I got it and therefore has had some work done to it. It has been recapped w/ Atoms and Orange Drops. The logo on the head was missing so I replaced it w/ a proper new one from Fender. The grillcoth was non-original, so I replaced it w/ new "aged" grillcloth. It's a good match color-wise, but it's a bit shinier than the grillcloth on the speaker cab. It also has a green jewel light, but it was like that when I got it and left it that way. Overall, I'd give it an 8.0/10.

This was my #1 amp at church for about a year or so and is extra pedal friendly. I've gotten oodles of compliments on my tone w/ it. It sits very well in the mix and the volume is just right for a band setting.

It has a drop-dead-gorgeous clean sound, especially w/ humbuckers. The breakup comes on about 4-5 and its a very shimmery, smoother kinda od, not a roar like a Super/Pro Rev. It's a bit of a different sound from the other Fenders I've played. A lot of people used it in our studio and most of them commented on how good it sounded.

It comes w/ the all-original 1x15 cab w/ the tone ring. Has a few scuffs and dings, but no major tears anywhere and no rips in the grill cloth. I'm pretty sure the speaker is a JBL D140, but will verify and add pics later.

I'm asking $1500 for both the head and the cab and I will not separate them. As always, I will eat the shipping, which will be around $200 at the UPS Store, and will eat the paypal fees as well. I've seen a few of the normal showman heads go for almost $1k and and the 15" cabs go for about $700 on ebay, so I think that's a pretty fair price. Lower 48 only please (unless I know you) and no trades, please!
