SOLD ** 1970 Gretsch Chet Atkins Tennessean




This is a completely original Gretsch 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean with a Gretsch/Bigsby whammy bar. The serial number is stamped on the back of the headstock shows it to be a 1970 model. The guitar is in fantastic condition and has been kept a non smoking environment.

This is an extremely responsive and great sounding example of fine craftsmanship. It’s a fabulous player with real vintage vibe. This is a vintage guitar that you will actually want to play. This guitar has great tone. There are two Gretsch “HiLoTron” pickups that deliver an amazing rich tone. These are the single coil version of the “Filter’Tron”.

The pickups are great with a tight bottom and crisp top. The sound is amazing.

All the bindings are tight and beautifully mellowed to creamy yellow. The neck is straight and the action is fast with rosewood fret board and the “Action-Flo” nut with zero fret. . The frets are original and show no wear. This model has the “Neoclassic” or sometimes called “Thumbprint” pearl inlays.The bridge is a Adjust-a-matic.

There are just a few small scuffs from years of play. There is no buckle rash and only a very small single ding in the finish on the body. This is documented in the pictures on the site listed below. I bet you can’t see it either. One of the aluminum knobs is missing the Arrow through “G” on top small round plate.
