This is a Guild Starfire II semi-hollow body guitar with Bigsby whammy bar. The serial number proves it to be produced in 1966. It was made with pride in the Hoboken, New Jersey. The guitar is in fantastic condition and has been kept a non smoking environment. This guitar is completely original except for the added Bigsby unit which was added at the dealer it was purchased from.

This is an extremely responsive and great sounding example of fine craftsmanship. It’s a fabulous player with real vintage vibe. This is a vintage guitar that you will actually want to play. Great tone flows out of this guitar. There are two Guild Humbucking pickups that deliver an amazing rich tone. The pickups are very crunchy, and harmonic with a tight bottom and crisp top. The sound is amazing.

I have never seen a more beautiful original ‘60s Guild Starfire anywhere, and you may not see one this nice again. The bindings along the fingerboard and top are tight and beautifully mellowed to creamy yellow. The Mahogany neck is straight and the action is fast with rosewood fret board. The frets have plenty of life left in them. The action is great and can be easily adjusted to your needs by using the bridge thumb wheels. The original dark cherry burst finish shows light checking and just a few normal scuffs from years of play. There is no buckle rash and only a very small single scratch through the finish by the upper strap button. This is documented in the pictures on the site listed below.

Lots of Pictures HERE!

These are some fine examples of the tone that can be reproduced by this guitar.
I fixed and added a few links to tone matches for this Guild.
