I want to add a clean boost to my setup to pad my signal a little bit and to liven up the sound. I am looking at getting either an SHO or a Cold Fusion. Where would this go in my signal path? My current setup in order is:
Strat or Tele >Thomas Organ Wah >Ibanez CP-9 >Dano Cool Cat Chorus >Custom Tremolo >Ibanez TS-9 >Mesa Boogie DC-3
Does it make a difference whether I put it first or last in the chain?

should you pick the SHO, you can use it first for the most dramatic increase in clarity, as long as you don't try to use it for a massive boost. if you really need heavy boost, put it last.

it sounds like the signal chain you have now is pretty dull when you bypass everything... unless you've converted your pedals to true-bypass. starting with that thomas organ wah, the worst culprit, it looks like every single one of your pedals is non-true-bypass. you may be quite shocked if you put an SHO first in the chain.
