I've been thinking of GFS Pickups for my newest build. So, I need some input:

Are they as nice as the Rio Grandes, Fralins and Lollars, etc.?

Anything you know from first hand experience, would be appreciated. I want to put great PUs in there. And your input will be very helpful.

There's no way GFS can compete with Fralin or Lollar. Those guys are the masters! However, some of their models might be "good enough" and way better than cheap stock pickups. I have some of their lipstick protubes but haven't installed them yet. They're made overseas but designed by Jay in Boston. At best, they might compare to Duncans but I'm only basing that on reviews I've read. It looks like some models are better than others.

I like my GFS 64's just fine.

After having been through Rio's, Lollars, CS Fenders and a few others over the years I've learned that all I need is a classic sounding Strat pickup and I'll be fine. The GFS pickups do that for me.
