They've got two dealers in the Atlanta area and I have wanted to drop by and check one out. The Green Line looks like a cool pedal. If I get a chance to check one out live I'll report back about it.

i kinda dig the website. it looks like a pedal page for people who don't buy pedals. maybe i'm weird but i find that refreshing. it makes me feel like less of a nerd.

i liked that they got creative with the website. it was a bit harder to navigate, and they didn't drop a ton a tech jargon for the musictoyz boyz, but it was more fun to go to their site than many pedal builders. it certainly didn't feel like some kid made their site in 20 minutes with basic html, and some definitely feel that way. about the actual pedals, there is a red threat in a local used equipment store that i have been wanting to check out. i think i might this week, now that i've been reminded. also, the "d" definitely isn't backwards donny. the others are up in the air, but you can at least feel secure in that.

Hi, this is "stick person" Dave from Smart People Factory. Thanks for checking the site out. Hope you all get a chance to check out the pedals in your local stores. (If there isn't a store in your area, please recomend a good one to us) Anyway, just wanted to clear up a few questions: - Only the R's and E's are backwards on the Red Threat (look at some Russian writing and this will make sense) - The Red Threat is not a Big Muff clone. It was designed to compete with the Metal Zone more than anything else. Crazy over the top wall of distortion. Try it with drop D or even C, it handles low end beautifully. - The Green Line does do the 808 thing, but goes MUCH further. More gain, more tone control, different clipping options, and the magic "MUD" switch. - As to the web site, it took 2 kids 25 minutes with basic HTML... :-) Thanks!

Hey - thanks for posting. Can you say more - explain the different clipping options, and what's a magic mud switch? The bass thing? Thanks!

HA Hi David- I was kidding about letters, once upon a time I could read Cyrillic....... If you like, we do Tourboxes here, if you want to loan a couple examples of your pedals we can pass them around for trials and opinions.......

I read a review of the Green Line in TapeOp. They gave it a rave review. In the article, they say the "Mud" switch will keep your Tele/Strat from getting ouchy in the high end. Kind of an EQ shift maybe? I want to try one.

On the green line, the vintage/modern switch changes between the classic ts style diodes in the feedback loop clipping to a diodes to ground set up (like a dod od 250) and shifts the frequency responce up a bit to give more bite. the mud switch adds more low end (when switched up) and has a cool affect on the tone control, especially in modern mode. There's a review of the Green Line in the July/August issue of Tape Op that goes into some good (and funny) details. I know the price is a bit high for some people (most stores are selling the green line for about 189) but as a company we're doing our best to provide really high quality pedals and also give local music stores a chance to make some money. (The stores make more money on them than we do.) We don't undersell the stores on-line, and we're staying out of large chain stores. (well, we do have some in the local Seattle G.C.s because we wanted to see how they'd react.) We want to support the local "cool" music stores so in every city we go to we drive around for hours trying to find stores that don't stink of big business. If anyone on the forum has any recomendations for stores in the midwest or anywhere else, let me know, because we're driving out towards Chicago via Colorado soon. As to the tourbox, if someone emails me some more info on it we'll consider it. Thanks, quote: Originally posted by Muse-ic:

We (at Smart People Factory) would be glad to donate a Red Threat and a Green Line to the tourbox(es). Do we need to send them to a starting point, or just become a stop along the way and add them then?
