Has anyone retrofitted the new Suhr BPSSC (Back Plate Silent Single Coil) System to their strat yet? How did it sound?

So many pedals, so little time...

(FYI) It will work on any Strat type guitar but all three p'ups need to be the same polarity and wind. If you have a RW/RP middle pup in your guitar it will not work and will need to be changed to match the other two.

$260.00 Yikes!

I agree, it's pricey - but if it works???...

As for how it sounds, go HERE and click on the first clip. It is titled "New Guitar With BB Preamp and and RC Booster". Scott Henderson demos the backplate system in the first part of the clip. Sounds pretty darn good to me.

I got it a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It was a pain in the a.. to install, but that was because the two Big Dipper (neck and bridge) and the Suhr LP60 bridge pickups didn't have the same polarity. But a couple of hours and a few soldier jobs later I was treated with a strat that didn't sound any different and after tweaking the controls wasn't any louder in terms of humming and background noise than my Les Paul. I do highly recommend the SSC, it's as good as advertised IMO.

Yeah, true...I have a friend who has it and he says it works great. Yeah, a bit pricey, but I do think it's worth it. However, all of my Strats have a RW/RP middle pup. I may have to persue this at some point, it's certanly a great concept.
