I just got one this week. Anyone want to share their favorite settings?

well, I like the content of it's OD, so I dont use it as a clean boost. I like the toggle up in full compress mode, or all the way down, generally. However, it all's Depending on what I want really determines the settings.
I have it set internally to the Fulldrive setting, and the two dials set to where Olaf suggests. I just prefer the FD setting to either of the other ones, which arent bad by any means. Generally, I run it into a Gibson Goldtone combo with alnico blue. My settings are: vol. @ 11 o'clock, tone at 12 o'clock, and OD at any number of places, again, depending on the OD grit desired. When I kick in the 2nd channel boost, usually it will be also be @ 11 o'clock. It's a pretty strong boost. The nice thing tho, is if you dont want the 'closed down' compressed sound, you just flick the toggle back to center and throttle back the volume either on the guitar or the BANZAI, or both. The center non compressed setting is very nice also. Alot of ballz to be found in the Banzai FB2. It makes a fender way more agressive, and somewhat Marshally? The pedal has a darker tone generally, tho not Mesa dark. And also, I like the break-up character of the FB2. Not preampy or typical of an amp's second channel/OD channel at all, more complex and less busyness to the actual break-up, ie non-fizzy. I think it is one of the finest pedals made, and is a large part of what I get in tone. I own #6. It is not a pedal I would sell. I use my Tim as the other OD pedal, and they make excellent bookends being so differently voiced. |
