Fishing for constructive (or destructive if you like) feedback pro or con. I just want to see if these babies will fly out of the nest or hit the ground with a big thud.

I liked the blues/rock and country songs the best( not poopin' on the others by any means!! the delay bits on the Irish alt one was super cool!!)I dug the funk to "the Magics Gone" ( might be my fav of them...I'm a sucker for a cool bass line) but some very cool production and playing on all...nice!

Telemania with a Bob Seager-ish vocal is the most unique part of the clips and my favorite stuff. The chick, while good, is not as memorable. Intros would need to be shortened on a few of the cuts as the attention spans are short these days.

Late Night Drinking Blues was my favorite in a Lynard Skynard kind of way.

I was expecting trying to explain driving while blind to some police officer or something funny as in "Couldn't Get Arrested" or "National Inquirer" but it wasn't the usual witty tongue in cheek as the cuts in CD Baby. The music was fine, as usual.

What was this recorded on Larry?

Excellent guitar tones!
I hope you don't mind if I make the Bob Seeger/ZZ Top comparison(?). Two bands I love by the way.

Keep it up.

Morning fellows. Thanks for giving them a listen and I don't mind the comparisons at all, some of my favorite recorded music ever.
George I think most of it was all some effects stuff straight into adats. The Late Night tune was a BYOC fuzz into the Texas Two Step into Art mic pre to adats( and a tele).I also used to use a Morley JD-10 on some of the older stuff. Dawn of Desire was all Les Paul into a JD-10.The only tune with live amps is Seen The Light. The rythmn parts are a bassman into a tubescreamer into a closed 2x12. The leads were a 1987 PRS into a 5150 wide open into a 4x12.
I appreciate the feedback very much Thanks.

"Seen the light" has kind of the vibe of a tune named "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" to me. I like it.

So, you went all direct except for one tune?
Pretty cool Larry.

"Magic's all Gone" - tone is great and my criticism of the vocal is only because I prefer chicks with a great set of lungs like Janis Joplin, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nick,Chrissie Hynde, Sheryl Crow etc

"Give It Up" I really like the vocal on this one so go figure. Chorus pedal is what? Cool solo tone and phrasing.

"Don't Say you Love Me" cool traditional Country and yes I like the female vocal on this cut to.

OK, I think what "Magic's All Gone" needs is for the vocals to be redone with the singer in a pissed off mood. She needs to sound like she really means it! "It's F'in over baby and you screwed with this chick for the last time!"
OK we can skip the "F'in" part but singing in a smooth tone gives the cut a sound like a band about to let guitar players up to the stage for a Blues jam.

Hey George,
Totally right on. I wanted to see if Aretha could sing Magic but no luck there. If you remember the scene in Blues Brothers, she is lecturing Matt Murphey. The head, the body and the finger wag are all going in a different direction at once. That is what the attitude should be.Actually I sent it to Buddy Guy's office (with permission to submit)as I orginally thought he could kill it(with the appropriate gender change) , but to no avail.Given my recording $$0.00 budget Smile, I had to go with the same singer on the 3 female tunes.
all tunes were direct except the one.

I can't wait to check these out. I'll be listening to these, as I slowly sink into the depths of dementia, tonight. Well, maybe not full-on dementia. Maybe just slightly askew!
