Hold on a minute. I did not say that his pedals were bad sounding, and I did not comment on personality either.

What I DID say, was that the pedals were built very poorly. (if you saw what was under the goop you would agree) I also don't think that his move to SMT is something that you would call a "boutique" pedal. But I have to admit that Sean has done a remarkable job of building up the Lovepedal "brand". The business of sales has very little to do with actual product. It's all in creating hype and demand.

Fair enough- I don't want to get into an argument over a pedal builder Wink

FWIW, there's no goop whatsoever inside the pedals that I own (at least not from what I can see)

That could be. You must have the newer SMT version.

I have seen "boutique" pedals which were built "very poorly." The Lovepedals which I have owned do not fit this description. The bottom line, though, for me is that if a pedal inspires me to make music, then its great. I have found some Lovepedals very inspirational and applaud the fact that Sean is not locked into producing only one version or design.

I only have one Lovepedal -- the 200lbs of tone. It's my noisiest fuzz, but it is different and does things my other fuzz pedals don't. It seems to be built well, was $110 including shipping, and has no goop inside.

The latest pedal seems intersting, but until I try one, who knows.

I chime in rarely anymore but I got to say this is BS. Headshot if you could make and sell pedals as good you would. And you wouldn't want some a calling you out on a forum. DS mods aren't the same and neither is kissing some pedal makers asses while slamming others. I liked your studio building and some of your commentary, but this is shallow. Put up or shut up.

Shallow? How? A guy can't have an opinion? I can't like certain builders and not like others? I don't kiss any pedal builders asses either.

So if I don't "put up" and start making and selling pedals I can't have an opinion about those that do?

I have no desire to be in the pedal business. One, I just don't have the time. Two, I do just fine with my day job. I don't need a business on the side. Three, everybody and their brother has a pedal "company" now. Assemble a BYOC kit and all the sudden you own a pedal company. There are very few that are doing anything new or cool. I have some unique things that I've built for my friends and for myself, but I don't have any desire to go beyond that.

Sorry but I call Bull Shit on YOU.

Why put someone down who makes things to help guitarist express themselves? Why post something negative about your opinion of their build quality etc? My experience with this is that often people put others down in an attempt to make themselves feel or look better. I may have read your intentions incorrectly and for some strange reason, hope that is the case. At any rate I know what it is like to put something out there and try to make something from it. One thing I have learned is that you don't need people, for no "good" reason poking little negative needles at it, much less in a public forum. I am sorry if I offended you, looking back at my post it was a little brash. I don't own any love pedal but I know several people who do, and I have gigged with them a few times. They always seem great to me. If anything from a bad monkey to an E, helps me get my point across from the guitar, I am pleased someone took the time and energy to sit down and design it, market it, and get it out there as a resource for me. Not every pedal fits every rig/need. Opinions are fine..hey it didn't work for me etc.. but hey this guys stuff is poorly designed and built is quite different. Good luck to you headshot I wish you well.

I'm glad I'm not mechanically inclined or mechanically curious. I don't really have any reason to peek under the hood unless something's overheating. In the spirit of relating one's personal experiences and remaining objective, I've stomped a Lovepedal Eternity at several hundred gigs since purchasing it a few years back. I'll stomp it at a job in north Georgia tonight, and I'll stomp it in Nashville on Tuesday. The switch is fine, the pots travel predictably, it sounds and responds great. Mine's well-built.

I ordered one a few days ago (just... couldn't... resist...). I liked the clips a lot, though of course you can't really tell much from them. It seems like a pedal with good, not-too-compressed bluesy hair and some flexibility, but we'll see. One for the collection, at any rate. I'll post back w/ a quick review when it arrives.

To be honest, my Eternity does look a bit haphazard under the hood, but it sounds great. On the other hand, the 4 knob fuzz that Headshot built and I got for like 50 bucks or something kicked the Black Beauty '07 off my board. Disagreements are OK and legitimate but let's keep it civil, which this forum is pretty good about and I trust will remain so.

You wanna be scared? Look under the hood on a Matchless HotBox! It looks like a spiders nest in there.

Well the switch on my Eternity croaked on me last night during rehearsal. I'll report back after I've had a chance to open her up. I'm going in!!!

I just sold mine, just today. I have too many OD's and the Suhr put a hole in my pocket. Got pretty fair money for her considering the economy, got to give it that.

Ok, I'm inside my Eternity right now. FWIW it has some scribble that I assume is Sean's signature (I should talk, I can't even read my own anymore), what appears to be a scribble of eyes, eyebrows, a nose and a mouth? and '05. It's an older burst Eternity I assume I bought new in '05. My circuit board is partially covered in some grey goop - some of the caps and resistors are exposed as is the socket for the op amp the rest is under goop. FWIW, I never received the other op amps to try swapping so mine has the default. The circuit board does not appear to be attached to anything (no stand offs, etc.) and is just held in place by the wires! Eek My battery clip consists of a round piece of foam that looks like it was lifted from a make up kit and is just wrapped around the battery. The soldering appears to be clean, but the wires are all of somewhat longer than necessary length and are haphazardly laid out. Compared to the insides of some the GGG kits I've built, I'd give this about a C+. Of course the paint job is mediocre and is moderately chipped from 3 years of normal use on my board. Should be a snap to wire in a new 3PDT switch, assuming I can find it in the mess I call my garage.
