A bit off topic but you guys are smart enough to help me with this, I'm sure. In the new Planet Of The Apes, Marky Mark comes back to Earth & crashes at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial, but the statue of Lincoln is of an ape, & the cops & military are all apes. Did I miss something? How can a change in the future change the past? Did the larger ship the Oberon get thrown way back into the past by the temporal anomoly? If so, why would the present day Earth be more technologically advanced than the Earth of the future? The ape cops had guns. Sorry, but I went to the $Theater last night & there were just too many loopholes.

Man I must have missed something. I thought it was Charelton Heston and it was towards the end of the movies he finds the Statue of Liberty burried in the sand.

Yeah, within the past year they released a remake. Part of it was filmed not far from where I live as a matter of fact, same state anyways. Charlton Heston appears in the new one, in a cameo uncredited role as an ape. You might not recognize him to look at him, but his voice is unmistakable. He talks about the power of the gun that had allowed humans to subjugate the apes. In the original Chuck Heston sees the Statue of Liberty, & in the new one Mark Wahlberg sees the Abraham Lincoln statue is that of an ape.

When Marky Mark leaves the Planet of the Apes, after kissing both the cutest human & the cutest ape, you can see his chronometer going backwards, & you see him enter the Earth's atmosphere & crash land in Washington DC. The bulk of the action takes place in the future, & the apes do not have things like cars or guns, but they do in the present day part at the end.

It was kind of interesting to see the different types of apes. They had the standard military type, but also bleeding heart liberal, human rights activist, hot chick type apes as well. They even had one old ape with a toupee & dentures. They had me until the ending.

SPdave my take on it is that he ended up in an alternate or paralel version of the earth instead of on his own earth...i still don't know why he took off..i mean he had this love triangle thing happening, that would be enough for me to stay..lol

For a chimpanzee, that senator's daughter did look pretty good. Well how could Helena Bonham Carter look too bad?
