Count me in!

I suggest you start by doing a paypal store... that's the way most out of the bnorm pick manufacturer do it anyway and it's cheap.

I was wondering when I'd hear from you. Big Grin
I do have a Paypal account. The only problem is that they dip into every transaction which in turn raises the price of the item. Right now I'm kind of slow at shaping them because I'm so picky. When they are finished they remind me of dinosaur teeth. Maybe I should call them Toothpicks!? Wink

Feel free to "pick" my brain on the market Wink

I can help you spread the word among the pick community when you're ready... I have access to roughly 600 of those confessed pickaholics worlwide thanks to the internet Big Grin

I'm not by any way the know it all guy on the subject... I just researched it a lot in teh past 17yrs or so.

STOP!!!!!!

When someone guesses, etc. DO NOT RESPOND! Don't give a potential competitor ANY clues. Just STOP!!!!!!

Everyone will find out, soon enough.

Guys, stop guessing, fishing, etc. It's great that everyone is interested. And I know that you're all being supportive of a Brother. But, PLEASE don't keep "whittling him down" to giving up too much info. Help with his questions, and buy his products, etc. Remember, not just the regulars here, look at this Forum!

(Breathe......Breathe.......)

Okay, rant over. But, I just looked at this thread again, and have gained TOO MUCH INFORMATION! And, I would hate to see that ruin things. And I know you guys don't want to spoli things, either. Obviously, everyone here is wanting to help, and be supportive. AWESOME!

But, there are more discreet ways to go further.

Don't worry - nobody is even close to guessing.

the Swain has spoken...actully he's right but, i didnt mean mine that way, let us know how it goes, if you can only have 100 made and get your picks patened your sitrring up enough fuzz that people here on toyz might actully be willing to pay a little for them..i dont now why but your sales pitch is kind of addictive and i hope you get everything worked out right lol.

Wow - I didn't even work on a sales pitch yet. I'm not even sure a patent is necessary if I can't get more of the material to make them the point is kind of mute.

i know you didnt but jeeze, am i the only one that feels this way? i want to try different picks now,

what i really want to try is a jazz 3 with just a little bit of flex, kind of like those jazz 3 shaped picks fender makes(i think carl verheyen uses them)...for some odd reason our guitar center doesent carry them lol

Actually, I've been mulling and I think a design patent might be the way to go. It is a LOT less expensive, and is totally appropriate in this case. You can get one done professionally for about $1500. Plus, if you decide that you want to file a utility patent application within one year from the filing date of the design patent application, then you can claim priority from the design patent application, presuming that it has not yet issued as a patent (In re Scott J. Daniels). So you can kill two birds in this case by filing the design patent application, and forego the provisional utility patent application filing. And, quite honestly, I think that the design patent might be the only patent that you need. The major drawback is that it only lasts 14 years instead of 20.

So you can either get an NDA agreement and make all your testers sign copies, or file the design patent, or both, before letting any testers try it out or shopping it around.

New picks? endangered species? Are you killing pandas? Platypi? The possibilities are endless and mind boggling.

Victor.

The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Killing Pandas... Sounds like a band name. Wink

I'm busy right now. Making picks... Trying to get more material and then going to just offer them for sale. I'm thinking that I'm just going to forgo the patent and see if they sell. I've decided this can only be a hobby that makes a little cash if supply for product is low. They are very time consuming to make so I think if anyone else wants to try and make them that the profit is probably too small for competition.
