Hey that was fast! Cool stuff- sounds just like the opening A chord of "grinder" by Judas Priest. I believe that pedal has a knob that controls the bass gain. Maybe Alf knew the pedal would end up a little on the mushy side. Anyway thanks for posting that- sounds like you're having fun.

I had it done before you asked actually Smile The gain is not full up, as keeping the volume down on the guitar leaves alot of headroom and nicer detail in the "crunch". Gain pot on the Grinder was just a hair over 9 0'clock. I find most dirt boxes sound better with the input gain low & volume turned up anyway. The bass gain gets ridiculously fat, straight to flub if you get past 3 o'clock. Center detent is neutral, less than 12 o'clock is a cut. And of course the bass knob selects the frequency to boost/cut. I leave it all the way clockwise (lowest range to boost). Alot of the other settings sound like a ****ed wah. So suffice to say that it's set for a kind of sweet spot. I don't know much about electronics, but I want to clone this pedal! I can probably cram it into a smaller enclosure too. You can probably hear that it doesn't have much more gain than a plexi the way I'm using it and it does great blues tones! I just find only gives the hair/grind without imparting much other personality (except when it gets muddy) so it's kind of like a "pure" distortion to my ears.
