i used to work there and a buddy is one of the managers so if it will help let me know and i'll ask him. just know that fender is notorious for having "variable" shipping times especially for custom jobs.

Mna, I'm excited just to hear about your search! Since I'm not looking for anything at the moment, I'll be living vicariously through you.

It would be really cool, if you made some clips, while you're in the guitar shops.

As far as the B Bender (G Bender?), you may want to check out a few guitars with the Hipshot benders on them. Those can be added to just about any Tele, with out carving them up. So, if you find a great Tele that doesn't have the bender already, you could add a Hipshot, fairly easily. BUT.....You definately want to try one, before you decide. The Hipshot benders work from your picking hand's palm. So, the feel is different than a Parsons-White, etc. type.

E-D. That´s a thought...

I like that idea better than a built in B-bender since I actually would prefer a G-bender. I´m gonna read more about hipshots that´s for sure.

BTW. I´m glad that you are with me on this thing. ;-)

Ended up buying a Fender Telecaster American Deluxe. Aged Cherry Burst, maple neck!

I also got an Hipshot-system that I will install when I get back to Sweden.

My 1000th post. I know this is a tremendous honor I've bestowed upon you Thomas, normally reserved for heads of state and supermodels. We had a pretty good visit. Drove out to the beach and had lunch Tuesday. Visited Gelb Music in Redwood City and bought a few goodies today and had Mexican lunch at Rose's Cantina in Millbrae. Then we went to my place and Thomas tried out my Mega pedalboard through the Lil Dawg Champster also running a Avatar 1X12 Celestion loaded ext. cab. I can report Thomas has some pretty good chops and is a pretty darn good guitarist. Sounded pretty smoking with the Mo'D kicked in. We tried out his new Zendrive and the XTC Precision Overdrive. I'm already quite familiar with both the Zendrive and the Z2, the XTC is a pretty nice OD. I'd like to check that one out more. Thomas mentioned he had a pretty good time with DarthDildor (Ron) in Texas as well, and I'm glad a couple forum guys were able to show him around a bit, and I'm proud to call him my friend.

Yeah man, Thomas and I had a good time here. I took him to quite a few shops, and we got to try out some pretty cool gear. We tried out the Durham Crazy Horse, and that thing was freaking cool. We checked out a band playing on South Congress, and they were great. Got to talked to the guitarist after the show too. He was playing a sweet Nash Tele. Too Cool. It was a good time.

Thanks. And I feel the same. Ron and you took god care of me and we had a good time.

That Landgraff Mo´D was the best distortion I ever heard. I would like to try that one on my own amp, with the guitar I´m used to. The Mo´D might be my next pedal.

It felt strange trying out the zendrive and the XTS Precision OD after using the Mo´D and the Klon. I will get back with comments when I´ve tried it back home.

Carmen Ghia my be my next amp. Gelb Music in Redwood offered me to send over a Dr Z and install a transformer so it´ll work fine in europe. To bad I bought a new house. ;-)

I got a pair of Fender Vintage pickups for the tele and I considering installing them once I get home. The Am Deluxe feels great but I prefer the vintage sound. But first I have to try it at home.

I´m soon off to the wine district!

Nanook is back and I´ve just tried his new Tele.

It rocks. Looks cool with the Hipshot-shot in the hip thing. If he could fit a Bigsby on the same guitar it would be awesome

Only bad thing, he did NOT bring me a burger from Wendys :-(

Sounds like you had a fun trip!

Summer is the best time to hit the beach. It's Bikini Season. And you don't even need a license, when they're in season!

I'd take the chance to A/B those Vintage PUs with some of the "Boutique" choices out there. That would be a fun experiment. See if you can find a new maker that can nail the same tones.

Anyway, can't wait to hear more about you "Gear Walkabout". (Or, whatever you want to call it! LOL)

I will sum up my experiences. I´m still a bit jetlegged. I wake up at 4 in the morning and are ready to party. Hard to sleep at that time. But I´m working on it.

This weekend is one of the biggest holidays in Sweden.

Cheers.

I am coming into this thread a little late but I found a deal on this Tele

Any opinions on these thin line F hole numbers?

How much is a good price for one?
Are they worth having and/or paying extra for?

I did try a different thin line tele and remember liking it a lot but I am curious what you guys think.

Regards,
George
