It's a very sad time my friends.

Bob Sweet just passed away on Friday, October 24th, 2008.
George just called me to tell me the awful news.
Bob's wife called George and then he told me just now.
I'm sure George will chime in to say a few words.
I don't know if she has plans to carry on Sweetsound or not, stayed tuned for that.

But for now we can all bid him a fond farewell.

I never met Bob,
talked to him maybe a dozen times on the phone,
but I feel like he was a lifelong friend.

A real big-hearted, extremely intelligent, thoughtful, hard-working guy
and an excellent musician too.
I'm at a loss for words.

I really regret that we wont be able to meet with Bob for that jam up in Portland at Teddy's place, and we were all gonna' make the trek there too.
I was so sure it was gonna' happen once bob finally kicked this horrible cancer out of his body. Sadly that will never happen,
tho' I do hope it does in another lifetime.

Goodbye Bob, miss ya' buddy.

No,

Please no. This is incredibly sad news. Prayers to his family. I can't say enough good things that Bob has done in this life.

Very sorry to hear this news. By all accounts Bob was a great guy; a lot of people are going to miss him, clearly.

I think y'all should have the jam anyway, in his honor. Though I didn't know him, I'm guessing he would've wanted it that way.

I just got a call from Barbara Sweet and she asked to me to thank everybody for all that they have done for them in their time of need.

Bob, himself, has said to me over and over again how he is so appreciative for the kindness and generosity of others and how he simply finds it hard to find the words. He told me that he would thank everybody and I know how much it would mean to him for you all to know the love that he had in his heart for all of you.

Bob passed away on Friday after a rough month of suffering from bone Cancer.

This week Barbara, Bob's wife, will be dealing with the funeral and family.

I feel terrible about this but I am grateful to have known him.

He really was quite the guy. God bless you Bob

To answer Paulie's question Barbara told me that after the funeral she is going to be shipping out Mojo vibes and will be keeping the Sweet Sound Electronics business going with the help of Bob's brother.

I never met nor communicated with Bob, yet I know that many of you were good friends and acquaintances with him.

It was with great interest and admiration that I followed your support of him here. He was brave in the face of his condition, and you guys certainly helped keep his spirits up.

My condolences to family and to his friends here on the forum.

James

The outpouring of support from the musicians community is testament to the regard with which Bob was held. The finest tribute to Bob would be to continue our support for his family and Sweetsound. RIP Bob Sweet.

I wanted to thank you guys for keeping all of the forums up to date on Bob's condition. I know many of you were close friends of Bob's and wanted to thank you guys for all you did to circle around him when he needed it the most.

Bob and I spoke on the phone over the last few years probably a dozen times also. Those were always 45 minute to and hour and half conversations, between Bob genuine love of music he will forever remind me as to what a great guy was.

I unfortunately hadn't called him in the last few months being busy with what now seems like stupid crap and taking for granted that he was getting better.

As you list the truck, and being hit by it, I fully understand what you're saying. All I can say is I am glad I got to know the man behind those great pedals. I'll forever think of him every time I play one his pedals. Thanks for the tone Bob!

My condolescenes and prayer go out to his family.
