I have a MJM Blues Devil into a Fat-Boost (old mod.) into a bf tremolux, and want a sl./med. overdrive for rhythm before the MJM. It should also work at non-saturating amp-vol. I'm leaming towards the TIM. Then I can kick in the MJM for leads. What do you guys think??? Thanks.

I think the Tim is a good idear.
If you look for your amp sound just with some more gain, i recommended the Lovepedal Eternity. I use it sometimes in a clean amp and even there its great.
It got a very smooth characteristic, which i like more in a clean amp, than a grainyer pedal.

I love the TIM for overdriven rhythms, I think it excels at this and medium gain, bluesy leads. It sounds great into my '71 Super Reverb, very natural and amplike. It's gonna have alot more gain than the FB and less colored EQ than the BD, so it fits nicely between them IMHO.

The tim would work great for that. I don't play fenders, but, i have played a tim thru a fender
and it sounds killer. I don't think you can go wrong with that pedal for light/med overdrive tones.

The TIM is working great for me for light/med overdrives. I'm alternating that with the Barber LTD, which also does a great job for those tones.

+1 the LTD. It's also cheap! But it does color the sound a smidge, which is very useful for single-note/double-stop work. Another good one to look into besides the LTD, TIM and Eternity is the Hot Cake.

Another vote for the TIM overdrive..
It sounds so good with my Fender Princeton and Vibro Champ. Owning the TIM I'm done looking for overdrives...It's the one pedal I can't gig without.

I've been using a Tim for the slightly dirty rhythm thing for well over a year now. It does other sounds too, but I haven't come across anything that does the lower gain rhythm thing as well as this pedal. BF Fender Bandmaster and Alessandro Rottweiler.

For spongy type classic rock sounds I would go with a Liquid Sunshine.

I think the Subdecay Stupid Box also is a great choice -- it sounds great with my clean Bassman.

The TIM offers so many possibilities. I've used it for low gain and cleanish boost, but currently I use it more for low/med gain. It's my favorite pedal for bringing out the "in-between" strat pickup positions. It sounds great boosted with the LTD which I also use for low gain.

Thanks for your input. Which one has the least compression: The Barber LTD or the TIM?

I read somewhere that PaulC is working on a smaller version of the TIM, the TIMMY. It is said to be a MXR sized pedal w/o the boost-function.
Does someone have more info on the TIMMY??
