I literlly could not stop playing thru it. Really nice. Smaller than the old Echoplex's....great carry-bag, and an easy to setup unit.
Besides steller tape echos, this thing enhances your tone just going thru it. You guitar is getting massaged by a few more tubes before it hits the amp and this is a VERY good thing. Also, sending things like od/fuzz thru the TTE and those are getting a dose of tube massage. The raunchiest fuzz was transformed into total musical tone. The TTE gets all the sounds of any of the Maestro Echoplex's I ever had, but goes beyond with the ability to set your speed which alters fidelity....and the TONE of the repeats can be made bright or dark.
It gets the infinite repeat thing which can be adjusted with the movable tape head, ala Tommy Bolin. One of those boxes where you get lost in it and lose track of time.
Mike hit the mark with this thing, kudos to him and his crew.
I figured all Mr. Fuller had to do was make that thing properly and he couldn't possibly go wrong. The speed/fidelity switch is a cool option I hadn't heard of before.
So, Mike says his tapes are superior to the Dunlop tapes, which I don't doubt. But does that mean that his echo doesn't have that chorusing effect that the inferior, warbly tape cartridges so fortuitously created?
Dang; it would be frickin' awesome (sure; NOW I come up with this idea several years AFTER he decided which features to include!) to have a speed modulator, ala Deluxe Memory Man.

he uses a superior tape, which will address the tape shedding issues,or at least won't be as bad.
As to the High Speed/Low Speed, as per the manual- the faster tape speed, the more in-tune the repeats will be.......conversely, the slower tape speed, the less in-tune the repeats will be, and the warmer the repeats will sound.
Sounds very cool Carl, IVe sure been tempted...... and I had a similar concern as skreddy ----- Ive owned and played many tape delays over the years Echoplex tube/ss Korg Stage and Roland Space Echoes etc.... And the thing that always bugged me was that the cool warbly sound was lost with new tape changes, but the sound improved, so it was an either or thing - couldnt get clear warm warble at the same time......

After giving up on the Echoplex years and years ago, due to no repeats, eratic repeats, misaligned heads and other BS, this thing is a godsend!
I'm going to baby this SOB and buy the correct cleaners to maintain it!!!
Carl said it best that its on of those things you just lose yourself in...first time I played the TTE I plugged in about 6 Pm.....My son came yelled dinner....then again 10 mins later.....then my other son.....next thing I knew it was dark out and it's 9:30 and the house is dark...
Kinda reminded me of being a kid when you first started playing and just went into dream state....
Definately the product of the year....just total dream time.

Let this be an important lesson to us all. Playing the TTE is NOT without serious consequences (as stated above). From our research:
1)Excessive playing ot the TTE can cause mental delusions (people often comment on being "lost")
2)Playing a TTE can cause not only your house to be dark, but your entire neighborhood as well. Exact cause of this bizarre phenomenon is still unknown at this time.
3) Agressive behavior and "yelling" is common among youngsters, even non-users of the TTE. This could be in relation to the sheer volume of the TTE being played.
4)It appears to cause severe hunger pangs in those who use it regularly as well..

i'll be honest-i secretly hoped the general consensus would be "over-hyped piece of crap". but i like every fulltone product i have heard. and,i imagine it can't be produced at this quality for less $,& for what it is ,it is priced accordingly.but i can't swing it right now.although my wife would look good on the street corner,hmmm...

Let's admit it guys, we all salivated when we first got word of the TTE. Then when we saw the price we couldn't justify it (most of us that is). In the words of Wayne from Wayne's World "It will be mine!" That thing is much more than a pedal; its a versatile studio tool. I bet it would make digital-sounding keyboards more magical and organic.
