My understanding is this. FDII is a tweaked Tubescreamer. Fatboost is a clean boost. OCD is supposed to be like a Marshall 18 watt. GT500 is Marshall 100 watt.

...and the RTO is something else...?...somewere between FD and OCD...almost seems like a OCD/Fatboost (AKA amp-like overdrive) kinda deal, tuned for Robin Trower's hard hand, and low tuned, heavy strings ( lots of input signal) ( this is purely conjecture as I have never tried/heard it! )...I think it's probably damn near impossible to mention Fulltone or Mike Fuller without getting at least a few digs thrown around ...but as always let your ears be your guide...

What kills me is the 4 different versions of OCD. Whats up with that? Are the different versions really that sonically different. Not to bash just interested in that pedal but now there are 4 friggin version which makes the decision that much harder...sheeeesh....just want to overdrive my Jubilee is all...
RE upgrades/versions I got the FM version and have seen the TR100, vintage and MOSFET variants. My main reason for not bothering is that the Comp Cut mode is so good I dont need anything else.

I've tried 'em all. There may be some overlap, but they're different enough to warrant having them all on the market. They will all do something for somebody. Fatboost 1 and Fatboost 2 are different from each other also.
I think the OCD versions are noticeably different (in my experience, 1 and 3 were different, with 3 having more usable mids and less harsh highs). It's kind of annoying to not know which one to start with though.
I bought two OCD v3. Traded one into a Honey Bee. (great deal huh?)
Those two I got sounded a bit different. The one I kept had more bass in it and had a fat sound that I liked. The other one didn´t sound bad, just a bit different with less low tones and less fatty tones. Couldn´t dial in the same sound. Tried them both with my Fuel Tank and then with different batteries to see it that was what made them sound different. Found nothing.
