You'd think for $400 bucks you'd get a swirly paintjob.

I think the turret board layout is kind of cool, but the housing is just plain ugly IMO.

If I was going to spend that kind of money on a TS I'd spring for a Landgraff DO personally; I could see how this might interest collectors though.

Not that there is anything "wrong" with the TS-9 or TS-808 but many prefer true bypass wiring to the quiet switching used in many Ibanez/Boss pedals. It appears Japan is paying attention and giving players what they are asking for and that's a good thing. Heck, even reissuing the TS-808 was a sign of Japan paying attention!

Due to the layout it will sound slightly different.

I think I read that they are only putting out 18 units a year so we will all have to wonder what they sound like unless Ted gets a few and makes sound/video clips of them in action.

18 units? OK, are you gassing for one now? Smile

I know I am...LOL

Regards,
George

18 units, that can't be true. There not even going to make the money on the advertising if they only make 18 units. Where did you read this?

They may not even be interested in making money on this product. What they ARE doing, is building something different, and getting more brand awareness for Ibanez pedals. They haven't even made any of these yet, and already there is a buzz. Just think of all the free advertising they are getting by us taking about it on the forums. They love that we are all talking Ibanez.

Gotta think big picture man!!! Smile

Ibanez is a little late to the party the TS thing has been done to death at this point. Roll Eyes That said if they do only make a very limited quantity it might be a good investment.

Other than the enclosure and turret board construction it's still the same old cheap components inside. it's still gonna sound like the tube screamer you either love or hate.

"hand-wired" is not making a difference here at all. of course if they changed to better caps and resistors it wouldn't be an 808 would it?

my 2 cents.

Well, that's pretty much what John Landgraff has done, and a lot of folks(not including yours truly) think it IS just a 808 with a better paint job.
