So for the last 1 1/2 years My Wife has been working on Her RN. She's an LPN and will graduate in Jan. from The RN program. It's been worth the sacrifice since it will greatly benefit Us in the long run. Only problem is We have hit some hard times as well as some good times (Son graduated HS) that have made things really tight. I've taken over the bills and even the grocery shopping to help keep Us out of the red. This means a strict gear diet. It seems like an eternity and I don't mean something from Lovepedal.

I'm down to a Bad Monkey that works off and on, A Peavey Hotfoot, a modified Rocktron Sonic Glory and a Tuner. The BM sounds great...when it works. The Peavey also sounds great but doesn't do the blues rock kinda tone I need. The Rocktron doesn't sound all that inspiring. It's got the CJOD mods but without the Burr Brown chip. Thing is I've got amps coming out of My ears but I can't seem to sell them. I don't want to ship them and Craigslist is not helping out either.

I'm afraid that when My Wife gets out of school and We got some bills paid off I'm going to turn into Jack Butler. Big Grin

I've sold/shipped several amps (fleabay), including a couple of big Fenders, w/ no problems. Just make sure you include the cost of having them professionally packed (by you) in the shipping. If you don't have the original boxes, figure $20 for box, tape and bubble wrap. Wrap the amp tightly in two layers of bubble wrap and make sure your box is big enough to hold the whole business. If you're worried about tubes breaking, take them out and ship them in a seperate box. Be sure to insure it for whatever you sold it for. And then buy yourself an OCD; pedal problem solved.

Congrats to your wife, nursing school is pretty damned hard, I know because I'm about halfway through it myself! You should buy a Landgraff when everything's done. You're wife will think it's pretty and you'll love it even more than your BM (a poor choice of abbriviation if you work in the healthcare field Big Grin) Tell her to hang in there.

That's cool BTH. It's the most recession proof career out there. She's going to Apollo College. The LPN and RN programs are about 11 months. She finished the LPN program last year. The The RN program opened up and She signed up for that. It sure is tough on Her working and going to school and it's also tough on the old budget. I don't mind though because I want to make sure We are in good financial shape when We retire.

Dude, that's the way to go. I waited too damned long to get a real job so now I'm getting it together in my early thirties. Yeah, I know that's still young but imagine how well off I'd be if I started earlier. Good for you guys. As ugly as it gets and as many running jokes as there are about male nurses (all of my friends refer to me as "Faulker") I think it's the way to go. Anyway, nice jawing with you. I gotta study!

The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

My wife became an RN about a year ago and it's been great. She's a school nurse, which is not real high paying, but she has summers and holidays off with our daughter, which is priceless.
We sent through some tough financial times too, but it helps when there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Can you just get another used Bad Monkey that works?

I could get another OD. Right now I'm playing a Crate VC5212 converted to 1x12. For OD I use the lead channel and hit with a modded Sonic Glory for lead boosts. I get great tones that way. I'll just make do till We get through this and then start slowly rebuilding a cool rig.
