Roxy guitar is about 3 miles from my place. I've never even checked the place out, but I hear great things about them.

Details, please! What kind of body and neck? What is the finish on each and did you have any custom work done at all?

Just talked to Ty at Roxy. Very nice guy. He offered me a tour of the place. I think I'll check the place out.

Let us know more! I thought about making my own rearloaded Gold-Top Tele with wraparound brigde and a single P90 or Humbucker...How's the quality of those guitars? Anybody already made/assembled his guitar?

I have a USACG Strat neck which was custom shaped to my specs. Tommy and the gang did a great job and that's what is on my Strat now. That's my only direct experience with them but it was good enough that I would probably go there first for any future parts needs or if I was going to build another parts guitar.

Headshot, Ty is one of the most friendly and nice guy that I had deal with.

First of all, I'm going to tell you the specs and this weekend I'm going to borrow a good digital cam to make some shots and then I will need your help to host the pics!.

For the neck, first of all I must say that I'm using a Ibanez right now (you know about those thin necks) and I feel tired because I feel the neck too thin and so long... but I don't want to make a radical change so the neck is more thin than the ones I figure that you play. The best of USACG is that you can make your all custom neck (they don't have a bunch of body shapes...but you don't feel limited with the options...like with other companies, you know...) so the neck is a 24 3/4" one piece AAA birdseye maple with a 1-11/16" nut, a 10"-16" compound radius and Paua Shell inlays in face and side dots, Tommy make me a custom peghead. And then Ty finish it with satin finish. This neck is soooo beautiful guys, the first thing I thought when I opened the package was "oh that is so small, seems like a toy neck!", but that is was I looking for... so it's perfect.

Then the body is a clasic strat shape, rear routed for and three way Les Paul style switch and a one volume knob (I like those 80's guitars!) with the countured heel. Is a one piece honduran Mahogany with a flame maple top, USACG rate all his top with AAAA, but Tommy told me that this definitevely is a AAAAA flame maple top, and I think it too. Ty finish it with and a awesome Fireburst finish with a transparent cherry back! so it looks incredible.

The most important for me is that I can have the guitar that I want, I didn't felt limited with any kind of options, I choose all the neck measures, the peghead... and for the top Tommy send me a bunch of pics to make me choose one!. I rout it for what I want... I feel like is all custom and I didn't feel limited in any way. Also Tommy and Ty are extremly friendly and nice, they have the most awesome customer support in the world, I emailed both thousand times and then they answered me minutes later!, I called both a thousand times (and belive me my english is soooo bad!) and they are so helpfully and friendly! I consider Tommy my personal friend more than the USACG manager, I emailed him so many times only to speak with him about guitars, music... nothing about the bussines and he made the same with me, he is an incredible guy!!! and his work is awesome. So if anyone wants a Custom guitar go with him!.

I hope you're happy with the new info, I can't wait to show you the pics! I you want to know some else let me know!
