this weekend i had my graduation at a jazzschool (conservatory, similar to berklee) here in switzerland. now i'm a profesionell musican (on the paper)
i had to do a test in two parts. fist part was the mainpart: playing some jazz-standards with a demanding level, transcribed solo, etude, solo-piece, sight reading,..... i played my ES-175 straight into the Carr Vincent. after the test the guitar expert was asking about the amp and told me i had a great sound.
second part was a public concert with a project i had to realize. i had a great band, all of them finished the same school in the last years. we playd songs from jim weider, pat metheny, larry carlton, john scofield, and two of my own. i played my Les Paul through the pedal board into the Vincent. on the board i have a RMC Picture wah, Strobostomp, Octron, Timmy, Zendrive, X-Blender with Analogman Bi-Chorus in the Loop and DLS Echo-Tap. and again, the experts was verry pleased about my sound. this justify all the gear i've buyed over the last years....

this only, because i found musictoyz and this forum. otherwise i would never know about this great pedals and amps.... thanks to you and teddy!

Congratulations! I really envy you. I wish I had chops like that. Best of luck in your endeavors from this point forward!

I auditioned for a gig a while back, and got compliment after compliment about my tones. I used that to justify all of my gear purchases too. The thing that bothered me was that no one really said anything about my playing...

Oh well, I got the gig.

That's great news! Congratulations on your Graduation.

What's next? Are you going to try and get a "Legit" gig? Or, are you looking to start a band?

When other players and/or teachers and critics comment on your good sound, it means that they were listening because of your good notes. Bravo!
