Good for you! I'm totally piqued on that one as the clips are pretty sweet. Don't forget to let us know all about it. The Retro-Sonic chorus is one of the finest choruses I've ever tried.

Good choice! IMO, the RS Phaser is the best I've tried...Phase 90, 100, 45, Red Witch, Shannon, and a few more. It does what I want out of a phaser. Can be subtle or can get real chewy. Sounds great clean or overdriven and has lots of headroom. Small box too!

Nerve, That's what I want to hear about this lil' bugger. I've got a stupid number of late-model phasers, all trying to chase my old script logo and my Mutron--Sobbat, Shannon, Maxon, Red Witch, etc--all of which have come up short in one way or another. My RS should be waiting for me when I get home today (that's provided that Brown didn't lose it somewhere along the way). Can't wait.
Give me great tone or give me deaf!

Cool, I'm currently using an old Mutron Phasor II. After a few shootouts, it still remains on the board. So, I'm curious about your comparisons too.

Got the RS Phaser on Tuesday, just in time for a rehearsal. My initial reaction: this is a killer phaser. It's got that beautiful, humid tone that I associate w/ the best phasers--you can almost feel the swirl. It's very script Phase 90 at its more subtle settings, but the depth control takes it into Small Stone territory. It definitely gets thick, rich, and chewy. And it has nice headroom, so you can put it after a dirt or fuzz pedal and not worry about getting a huge dose of that metallic fingernails on a 100-watt chalkboard sound. I hit it with a Sunface, a Tim, and a Mayo, and it sounded fab with all of them. The Mayo, in particular, drove the RS into some crazy-cool overtones that brought new light and possibility to each pedal. Shibby! Dave, I don't think the RS Phaser is going to compete with the Mutron for depth and that kind of ultra-dense, 3D-relief-map phasing for which the latter is known. But given that the RS is a quarter the size of my Mutron and ISN'T nearly 30 years old, it's a great board/touring pedal. Definitely worthwhile and versatile--with the rate set high and the depth set low, it even does a really nice Leslie effect.
Give me great tone or give me deaf!
