I have bought a used Afro Fuzz. It's a cool pedal, good range on the fuzz control and the filter settings are very usefull too. I don't know why they are so expensive. Seymour Duncan's Tweak Fuzz is based upon the Afro Fuzz. The main difference is the Afro Fuzz is a Ge/Si fuzz, and the Tweak Fuzz is all Si. Ive never tried the Tweak Fuzz tho.

I have the Cannibal Boy in my main pedalboard that feeds my Marshall 18 watt and AC30. This is a very cool fuzz box with a lot of tonal variation. It is supposed to be a sine wave fuzz instead of a square wave like the Afro or Tweak Fuzz. I think I got value for my money because it does not sound like anything else I have . I use the Tweak fuzz in my small board . The Tweak Fuzz is a must have for price and sound especially. I think they cost so much because Alex Saraceno can sell every one he makes. ... and I think the Cannibal Boy is worth it.
I gotta be on Mars in fifteen minutes !

I've had the Germanium Boy booster since they came out. Awesome tool for recording. Not that useful for live situations. At least not for me. I think most of these pedals were made for Blues to use in recording situations.
There are a few reviews on HC, but they're under Blues Saraceno instead of Dirty Boy.
Why are they so expensive? I guess that's what Alex Saraceno thinks the parts and is labor are worth. MUCH cheaper than the Dirty Boy amps he made a handful of!

I generally switch between pickups a lot, so when I have the Germanium Boy dialed into a killer tone for the bridge p/u, it sounds like ass when I switch to the neck p/u. And vice-versa. But when I'm recording some it's much easier to work. Awesome sounding pedal in that situation.
I don't think these pedals were originally built as profit makers. They were made for Blues to use in the studio and producers and other players started asking for them. Alex makes them available for those who want and can afford them. If you think it's too much, don't buy them. Comparing them to Paul Cochrane's prices isn't fair as I've always thought he under charges for his products.
