I've never been a big reverb guy but could really use some throughout the night on certain tunes.
Are there any good reverb pedals out there?? I tried a Holy Grail a couple years ago and it didn't seem to do the trick. I'm not going to buy a rack unit or a Fender Reverb unit either, I just don't need it that bad but would love to be ableto get a nice spring reverb sound when I needed it
Get a good delay and just turn the time down. You will get a lot more mileage out of a delay IMO. Then again this is coming from a guy who doesn't care for reverb live either. Being able to have a slapback delay would be cool with your current gig.
As far as just a reverb I don't have any experience with external reverb except for my old Alesis rack units.
People like the T-Rex room-mate, though it's a tad pricey. I'm pondering the TC Electronics Nova Verb; I just bought their Nova Mod pedal and it's very good, I think. Otherwise, just go cheap and get a Boss Digiverb.
Definitely worth checking out! Great sounding reverbs, and the Rotary setting is a neat bonus that sounds great! No spring setting, but you won't miss it . 9v powered, true bypass, no noise, top jacks, studio sounds.

I was a longtime Fender spring reverb devotee... I now reeeally love using the HAll setting on either the reboxed Holy Grail or better yet the EBS Dynaverb ...
the Hall gives sort of a natural initial attack and then gets big later , it also relieved my need for a delay , tho I really like a delay into the hall setting to give that concerty lump in the reverb
chased this awhile back and the EBS Dynaverb was pretty good and came in a small package but had a bit of tone suck going on...
the Vanamps verb pedals have interested me for awhile but in the end I went with a Deep Blue Delay set for a pseudo reverb sound...works and sounds great...
So many reverb stomps out there. You'd probably want something natural sounding. Of course, here's my point of view. Sometime I have to take myself out of a composition, mentally, to see if an effect is needed or can be even used. Point is, if you feel you might need it, start with a cheap unit and start experimenting. A lot of times I'll start messing around with my Boss verb and make something spacey and smooth.
Inspiring, these pedals could be. Have fun experimenting.

I've been using a Holy Grail Plus for awhile now, and I think it's "fine." However, I think I'm going to sell it & get a Lee Jackson Mr. Springgy... it's not versatile, but all I want out of a reverb pedal is amp-like reverb. The Sole-Mate looks to be the sh1t, and that would be a consideration too, but the Springgy is small, only 1 knob, and runs off std. 9V.
I'm not really a Tech21 fan, but the Boost RVB is amazing. I've had one on my board for about 6 months. I've been through all the Boss verbs, an EH Holier Grail a Little Lanilei and a reissue Fender tube verb. The Boost RVB totally killed the Fender tube RI (and the others by a longshot) to my ears. The Holier Grail was very good, but worked best in an effects loop (which I don't have), and was huge.
The Boost RVB is not TB, but the buffer is very good. It's last in my chain and always on, so the boost control is a nice addition. You can get very analog-sounding tones with the tone knob. It can do great room and hall verbs as well as a convincing spring sound with the feedback knob.
