Hi Kimona, nice idea for a discussion topic.

My gear list is online on my webpage here's the url for anyone curious about it(pictures are a click away);
http://www.angelfire.com/pq/glorbz/BunkerStudio.html

Basically I use the following and add whatever I need or feel like to this setup...

*Morley Bad Horsie wah
*Digitech Whammy II
*Ibanez VL-10(this one is connected with the Dry and Wet output of the Whammy II and I blend to taste using the panning function of the VL-10)
*Tech21nyc PSA-1 preamp
*Digitech DSP-128+ in the fx loop of preamp for reverb when I feel like it, tho mostly off these days, I like the verb in that unit and use them in many situation other than guitars
*Crest *Power Amp
*Marshall 4x12" cab wich is modified

That's the core of my setup... like I said I add anything else as needed.

Wink

That's a good topic. As said before a guitar player basic tone is in his/her head and hands....But a few choice pieces of gear also helps out alot. Here's the set-up that I'm currently using at this time, From guitars to amplifiers.

Guitars:
Ibanez AS200 (335 copy, Awesome tone)
Fender Telecaster Plus with 3 gold Lace Sensors and a 5-way pick-up selector.

Effects Order:
Vox Wah-Wah (modified to True bypass) > MXR Dyna Comp > Visual Sounds Jeckll & Hyde Ulitimate Overdrive > Voodoo Labs 4 knob Tremolo > Boss DD-3 Delay.

Amplifiers:
Fender Hot Rod Deville 4 x 10"
Fender Blues Jr.

I also only use high quality cables in my set-up of either George L's or spectraflex cables. With this set-up i can get most of the tones that i'm looking for...but not all. The quest for the ulitmate tone is a never ending journey. I'm currently in search for a great fuzz and either great a phase pedal or some type of uni-vibe.

I’ll post my setup later, but I needed to reply to Gearfreak.

Check out the Captain Coconut. Dave Fox is passionate about his work, and his level of customer service is one of the best I’ve experienced. And did I mention it sounds AWESOME!!! It includes Fuzzfoot, Octave, and Provibe (I mostly use the Fuzz and the Vibe, and he might eventually offer the pedals individually).

By the way about Dave Fox's "FUZZFOOT":

amp: Laney LC-15! [I live in Korea, and the amp selection is sad, sad, sad]. The Laney is cheap, but really nice sounding - a lot of hiss, though.

Tomorrow I'm probably gonna go pick up a compressor (I plan to A/B the Maxon and the DynaComp) for my clean stuff. Among other plans, I eventually want to true-bypass the 847 and mod the TS-9.

Hey DMT,
Can you post the difference between the Dynacomp and the Maxon when you tried them both. I'm really planning on getting the Maxon compressor.
Thanks

Yeah, and from a guy who was surfing pedal forums instead of playing! Amazing. Anyway, Fuzzface_71, I didn't go today (its a little bit of a journey, and I [unfortunately?!] plugged in and PLAYED this afternoon and blew my required 3 hour window of opportunity to get downtown and back). I MIGHT go tomorrow, but certainly by the end of this upcoming weekend. Unless they're sold out or something, I'll post my impressions. Hope a few days-to-a-week is soon enough for you!

I use my 13-year-old Gorilla practice amp for recording to this day, and I still have my 80's Squier Strat. They have both appeared on major-label releases.

Equipment is fun to experiment with (God knows I'm a pedal addict), but it's not a requirement for making good music.

My current setup? It varies wildly, depending on where I am or what I'm doing, but I generally use my custom maple/mahogany Tele w/humbuckers and a Traynor Bass Master head (in desperate need of retubing) through a 12" EV speaker for playing live, and I have a Fender Bronco for practice/home recording. Some of my favorite/most used pedals include: Way Huge Red Llama and Purple Platypus, Boss analog delay and bass synthesizer, DOD envelope filter, and SansAmp GT2 and Bass Driver.
