That song has yet to be written - I despise the chorus effect!

Eric Johnson's clean sound on all his songs. Also, although Harrison used a real leslie on Let it Be (on one of the two versions), a chorus can nail that solo.

I used to despise chorus too. Then I realized the chorus effect is actually a closer sonic representation of a leslie speaker than a Univibe type effect.
I know what you mean about detesting chorus. Most examples of it really suck.

Yep, I love his tone on "S.R.V."

Yes - the Univibe is actually pretty close to the simpler Leslie (model 16?)that Fender also sold as the Vibrotone - no rotor or built-in power amp - just a standard guitar speaker and a rotating styrofoam drum.
To me the "Leslie" sound is the larger type used on organs with the separate preamp pedal and the upper / lower rotating elements. This is the kind used by Frampton and numerous others. They sound absolutely amazing on guitar.
Still don't like chorus pedals..but I do like the Leslie model in the Line 6 MM4. Not the real thing but as close as you are gonna get with static speakers.

I'm with TK all the way on this one. When I hear chorus I think of cheezey 80's music. Yuck!

I love my Vibrotone. Man, it's a pain in the ass to lug to gigs. But I can't imagine lugging around a model 122!

I love the sound of leslies and stereo panners and pingpong delays---- but they seem to make me a lazier player--sometimes I just love to hit a chord or a simple phrase and let it spin- but the audience doesnt hear that-they just get the phasing mostly--- sometimes a chorus/leslie pedal is better for your playing ... unless you have the whole discreet stereo PA thing..

Yeah, definitely the Eric Johnson clean sound, especially on songs like "SRV" or "Trademark"

I had the odd experience of living in japan when the CE2s were born and I bought one to go with the Phaser and compressor, not knowing what it really did,,, and then one day I hit the chords to 'Day of the Eagle" and couldnt turn it off for a week literally... and still today when I judge a chorus pedal I always seem to hit that big E chord, the bassnote run and then the long bend......................and now the first few notes of 'comeasyouare' TROWERVANA!!!

Yeah, too bad Trower used a Uni-Vibe.

and despite the comments, the univibe is not a chorus pedal. it's a 2 pole phaser.
