Yeah, too bad Trower used a Uni-Vibe. [/B]

He dumped the vibe in the early 80's and used a Boss Chorus.
Also, on the Bridge of Sighs album, the guitar is so wide because they ran it thru chorus/double tracking in the studio. This is why the tunes even without the Vibe sound like they have chorus on them.

Yeah- I was wondering on the poles as well- I look inside and see four sensors around the bulb- 2 sensors make a pole or axis??? or is it a 4 stage 2 pole??........
I was saying in another thread that to get the Trower sound it always needs a touch of stereo reverb-----although whats on the record that we hear coming thru our speakers is different than what you would have heard standing in front of Robins' amp, BEFORE processing, board compression/limiting stereo imaging-----------if you've ever been thru the nightmare of trying to mic cabinets onto tape and heard the difference from booth to playback to mastering...........its funny that most of us refer to Hendrix sound or SRVs or whatever and say the pedal nails 'fill in the blank' tone, when what we mean is this makes me sound live- like so and so's recorded sound-------but then you take that tone and record it and processes it and it no longer sounds rite,,, because we start at a different reference point.............one reason the POD has become so prevalent in recording....

"Walking On The Moon" by The Police. It affected me profoundly. Had to have a delay pedal too from then on.

Don't really remember the specific song ( probably some late 70's fusion'y thing )but when I tried one at " Valley Arts " ,( the hip guitar store in LA at the time ), I was like , " Oh ! Thats that sound " ... same with a phaser ( Mutron ) and a compressor . The plastic Arion and the Choralflange are my favs these days .

I don't know if I like chorus that much, but my phaser just isn't cutting it for the beginning part of "Drive" by the deftones (which my band covers). All the more reason to pick up the H2O.

For me, the chicken came before the egg.

Can't say I ever noticed the effect on record before I saw my buddy using one with his Fender Rhodes Piano. So I ran out immediately and got my CE-2 and we both used the same setting on our CE-2's on every single song. It was pretty ridiculous.

I still have a love/hate affair with the blasted box.
