You guys probably were not aware that I am a HUGE Schenker fan from way back. He was my main man growing up. I met him once when he was playing with UFO. He wasn't too social that night But he played his ass off!!! I love that guy, way underated in my opinion! He was an integral part of my guitar inspiration in my developmental years. I still get off on his style big time, incredibly melodic with some serious fire. His solos are like a good book...An introduction, a climax and a conclusion.
What do you think of that guitar? I think it looks pretty awesome!
Years ago a friend had a Dean Cadillac and it played and sounded great. If the new ones are as good, this V should be a joy. I also was watching the Hendrix "Isle of Wright" DVD and he uses the black Flying V on a couple of tunes. And now this post is furthering my Flying V jones. Luscious!
I agree. I loved Lights Out and the 1rst 2 MSG albums (no cds then!). I saw MSG open for Pat Travers Band in 1980 or so at the Cobo Arena, I had 6th row floor seats. It was a great concert!
back in my film production days i worked on a number of videos including one for schenker. i forget the song, but it was from one of his solo albums, and we got a local girls roller derby team in as the main setting.
while the video and the song are pretty forgettable, michael was a class act. very easy to work with, low-key, rather quiet, and an all-around pro. while i worked on many vids where the band was less-than-pro, michael and def leppard stand out as the best.

Wow schenker playing a Dean! He probably will still sound the same no matter what guitar he plays. Schenker has been one of my favorites for a long time I've seen him with UFO several times in the late 70's....which influenced me to get a Flying V back then.
Latest Rumor is Schenker will be on the next US G3 tour as well as Steve Morse and Satriani..... I certainly hope this is True!
I've heard that Schenker is really poor, and got much of his money stolen, or spent it on booze. Maybe he needed to to take any endorsement he could get??
Is anyone REALLY surprized that Gibson didn't give him a signature model???.... they seem to screw up everything.

Lights outs in London! That guitar looks sweet! Man......Gibson just sucks man. MS and Steve Jones both need a signature Gibson model made in their honor. Especially MS, with his uniquely styled Flying V. Love his tone.
