Thank you. I have to admit I'm not a huge sports fan, but I'm glad the Diamondbacks did so well. Your Cardinals did better than our Cardinals usually do, haha.

yeah Im not a big sports fan-- guess Im a fairweather fan-- If they are winning or in the playooffs Ill root for them.........and yes I think we kept the right Cardinals ;->

You got that one right. FYI the football Cardinals are trying to get a stadium built, but the site is in the flight path of the airport. People are actually arguing over that. If a stadium would be in the way of airplanes, move the site until it's not in the way of airplanes, duh! Oh well, anybody here from Atlanta?

I'm from Atlanta, SP Dave.
The D'backs are Bad People and are not to be trusted.
Glad for you that your team won today... Bet they don't tomorrow !

Im split on who to root for--- do I want the team that beat us to get smashed, or do I want the team that beat us to go all the way so we say 'maybe WE were the Second best team afterall".....hey we could have a betting pool- winner gets a London Fuzz!

If any team is worthy of a World Championship, I would hope it would be one that exudes the presence of mind and wherewithal that the D'backs have thusfar...

hey- whats another word for thesaurus??

Thank you very much you guys! This is pretty exciting for us. I don't think that a Phoenix team has won any actual championships yet. The Suns came very close a few years back, when Barkley was on the team. I'm on board with the idea of rooting for the team that beat my team BTW. Usually it's another team from the same part of the country, so there's a kinship of sorts. I haven't been following the other race very closely, & I know we have some New Yorkers on this board. How are the Yankees doing? Any Seattle people on this board?

Like much of the Civilized World, I have a certain soft spot in my heart for New York right now.........
......except when it comes to baseball.
Go D'backs!
Donner, the Thesaurus is a distant cousin of the long extinct Brontosaurus.

Congrats to Toyz & Carl & whoever else could be categorized as NY fans. I'm looking forward to a good World Series, & it would be an honor for the Diamondbacks to win against a classy team like the Yankees. If my team was going to the Series I'd hope that they'd face a great team, with a rich history.

For the record, I've been a Joe Torre fan since he was a catcher for the Braves.
And Jeter?(no, I !#^@ed her) & co. seem to have a patent on winning...
A truly class act, the Yanks.
I still want 'em to lose.
Should be a great series, something to watch besides bombs and anthrax.

Speaking of Anthrax, I heard that the band Anthrax will be performing a benefit in NY sometime soon.

I think I'm immune to that band.
If not, I'll be sure to get vaccinated soon.
Thanks for the warning!!

just remember to put your Anthrax CDs in the microwave before playing them ---the irradiation should sanitize them.....I remember seeing Torre hit a couple Homers at Busch when he was the Bigstick for the Cardinals in my youth, then he coached the Cards when Anhueser-Busch was pinching pennies and wouldnt spring for any actual players------------and Corleone do remeber offhand if the Thesaurus was a vetinarian or a meat-eater?????

Donner, the Thesaurus was Presbyterian.
Hope this helps.

That's correct, because the word means "god-lizard".
