I can't remember the names of all the controls. Far left is noise gate - start it at 5:00, and after you've adjusted other knobs, turn the gate only as far counter-clockwise as you need. Next knob is manual or delay time (also controlled by the CV pedal) - in general, low settings sound phasey, then come flanger sounds, then come chorus sounds, then come vibrato sounds - but if the next knob is at 5:00, manual does nothing. This next knob, whatever it's called, determines the relative effect of the knobs on either side of it - at 7:00 manual does everything, at 5:00 rate does everything. Rate or speed or whatever is like the speed control on a chorus - how fast it modulates. The last knob is resonance or feedback - it intensifies the effect by feeding it back through itself. For standard chorus sounds, you'd want resonance very low - for jet flanging, very high. Anyway, the real key is that middle knob - if you don't understand that it controls how much the knobs on each side of it do, you'll never figure this thing out.
