Definitely a cool amp if you are into the Vox/Matchless thing.

They're nice, but kind of overpriced IMO, in the same way that Carr, Matchless and some other high end boutique-y amps seem to be. I wouldn't sneeze at a good deal on a used one, though.

ok so ...I finnally decided to try this used Bad Cat CubII ( red ostrich/black BTW) out at GC today..wow, great tone...I was expecting something more similar to the Vox AC15 but, was not disapointed with the difference. First thing I noticed was the little F'r was LOUD!!! I was concerned that the ac15 might occasionally be underpowered but not this one... Thought it souded much better with the Master Volume switched out...it never seemed to really get into "overdrive" without the mastervolume though...and I've got to say the distortion sound( w/master volume) was a little harsh/thin for my taste ( as compared to the AC15h1tv, or my MarkIV) but maybe turned up louder it would be fuller. ( I hate sitting in the middle of a store to try an amp, I know I suck...why advertize it?) I've heard some people say that the treble can be harsh but paired with a 335( matte finish...not to my taste but...)thought it was a nice balance, kept articulate and punchy on the neck p'up, and the cut control was nice to fine tune...one downside...when adjusting the master volume the first 1/5 of the turn there was some "static/ crackle"..any thought on what that could be...? Just thought I would share...I'd really love to try a DR Z against it...

ok so...I read what wrote and i didn't say why I liked it, just the down side...and I realized that I only used on eof the inputs, might one have been hi and one low? ...the amp while it never got "distorted" without the Master Vol...it got more "sing" as you turned it up, and it got it fairly soon into the turn of the vol...I'm one of the few guitarist who get's told to turn up rather than down, but I'm guessin this one could hang ( in my band at least) in the "9-noon" area of the vol for med sized venues ( in the loudest settings that I got to (without feedback and embarassment...
