Wow, this is actually starting to get good. It's about 15 pages of discussion about what "Key" and Scales to use for SHA. Some cr@*. But, some good stuff, too.

Wow a 17 page discussion for SHAEek I never knew it was a hard song to solo over. While there are several option to choose from, playing tasteful is what matters on this tune.IMO Ed King's solos are perfect as perfect gets

Most bands slaughter the tune in general. Now that deserves a 17 page discussion. It's has some intricate rhythms that most players overlook.

HA!

Did you see the post with the "Magic Chord Progression", or whatever the guy called it? Because yeah, you can RULE over any musical situation with it! LOL

I mean really, speaking of taste.........

Nothing more tasteful, than playing "Coltrane Changes" over a Skynyrd tune! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously, the OP just asked what scales to use. And instead of giving hin options, the Experts all have to make it about themselves, and the "One True Way" that they KNOW is correct.

Can't wait to see who "wins". LOL

I find it funny that we call our chat's "Douchebag Discussions". They should rename their forum to that.

Oh Brother Laroo,
There is a power too pathetic and lame to even mention in these hallowed halls. The Douche of Douches, the King of Clam, the Grand Supreme King-Kameha Meha of Whining, the Sultan of Suckage.
He whom shall remain nameless is indeed the lamest.

It's D,C (add9 or sus2 - whatever you'd like to call it, depending on whether you include the 3rd), and G. It's a I-bVII-IV in the key of D, or it's a V-IV-I in the key of G. Regardless of how you slice it, it's D,C, and G. How difficult can that be? Ed King has been quoted as saying that he played the ride in the wrong key; no doubt a tongue-in-cheek remark.
