Is anybody running a multi-amp rig? I've got an ART AB/Y switcher alternating between my two JC-120's and Soldano Atomic 16, and when I use the Y (both) or the A (the JC's), it works fine, but when I switch to B (just the Soldano) it makes an awful hum. It doesn't seem to be the B output of the switcher; when I put the Soldano in A, the problem switches to that side.

Would one of those Ebtech hum eliminators take care of this? What am I doing wrong?

And as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, "Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!" So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths."

Yes. Ebtech says it will correct the difference in voltage at your line plug. I think Ted has those for 59, so its definately worth a shot.
Certainly seems like a cheap remedy.

High end switchers like Lehle & Radial Tonebone have isolated outs, so ground hum is eliminated. Garden variety boxes like ART, Whirlwind, & Morley do not.

If you check out the applications link at the Ebtech site, it clearly indicates that the product will defeat ground problems with multiple guitar amplifiers. However, every time I've seen this question come up, the concensus has been that the Ebtech Hum Eliminator is designed to work with line level signals, not guitar signals. It's an item that I remain confused about.

Thanks, guys. I have a friend with an Ebtech, so I'll borrow it, and buy one if it works. Otherwise, I'll probably go ahead and spend the money on a Radial or something like it.

I play with 2 guitar amps live, and I use an Ebtech HumX on one of the power cords. The amps are dead quiet. I can swear by this piece.

Thanks gazeglow, that's good to know. Sounds like a good tool for the gig bag.
