Went into my hometown shop on the week end... I couldn't help but notice they had a nice honey burst LP Standard... seemed satin finished... look closer it is a Gibson and it is satin finish... (I prefer natural or satin feel) says Standard on it fingerboard seems to be rosewood with the trapezoid gibson fret work. Zebra(cream and black) open coils humbuckers. Looked on the website can't seem to find it there... maybe I don't know my way around gibson.com or something.

I didn't plug it in since I had my baby girl with me (yeah I'm bad I took her along lol) I did however look at it closely and lift it off the rack felt great. Was priced quite fairly I was expecting much more for a brand new one...

It was a new one not a used one. And no it's not a new one collecting dust in that store I go there 1 out of 2 time I drive to my hometown.

Looks like a Standard Faded those are satin finshed.

I've had mine ,a faded tobacco burst for three years .It plays and sounds swell, the satin finish seems to let it resonate more than my '57 reissue. Burstbucker Vs .I put a custom wound Duncan in the neck position that does the Peter Green thing.

I think they just discontuned them this year...they are kinda cool lookin'...I feel a Les Paul jones coming on...I kinda dig the finishes on the BFG Les Pauls too, the gold one anyway..RAW...maybe a bit too raw with all the faux beat hardware but the idea is there...

Sure, took a day alone with her, had a funeral to attend and we stopped there on the way... I can't afford it right now but it is very high GAS... need to go again and plug it in and see what kind of deal I might get... who knows. I didn't know Gibson made satin finish that's mostly why I didn't go with a LP and went with my LG because satin feels so much better don't know about sound of satin vs other finish but from what I felt it must be true. Well price also but the price of this one is cheaper than non satin Gibson I have seen!

Dirtymurphy yeah I checked ebay... for a dual humbucker one... there is some but teh price is more than the one I found.

I'd liek to find teh specs on those seems I can't.

I don't know if they've ever really said what BFG stood for...Badazz F'n Guitar?
