Hey - I'm wondering - is there a way to get a little bit more gain from this amp? I'm looking for a tone out of this amp but can't quite find it- I notice the amp seems to have a bit of a bluesy overtone to it right now- I'm looking for a hot -not scooped - mid/bass sound- thanx- any mods to get a lil more gain? and what settings would you recommend for this head for the sound I want- thanx it's a 2555..

Get an eq pedal, crank 100hz-800hz by about 2-4 db. THen you also have the option of diming the overall volume on the eq, which really pushes an amp over the edge. Did the trick on my plexi and JCM2000.

First thing I grab is an eq when I want to shape a tone or boost.

A Furman pq-3 is the best eq I've ever used with a Marshall.
