This is the saddest I've heard lately. Carlin has influenced me and my thought process as much if not more than any great musician I tout. I always thought if the guitar thing didn't work out, I could be a "George-Clone" I'm actually thankful for this man and his work. Few people have ever made me lose control of my bladder and breathing the way that Mr. Carlin could.

One of the greatest ever. I always loved his take on the world and politics, pretty much always hit the nail right on the head.

I was at his Summerfest show in Milwaukee when he uttered the 7 words you can't say on TV...the cops were waiting and arrested him...I thought that was so cool at that time to stand up to the establishment and live to tell about it...

I remove my newly aquired fez in tribute...one of the truly great minds of our time...he made you laugh and think at the same time...if all he said were "dirty words" he would be worth remembering, but as a wordsmith and social comentator/critic he had few peers...at least none that I found as funny...

Never heard of the guy, but I've spent a big part of the day looking at him on Youtube. Great stuff! And somehow I think if I had said things like that in some parts of the States I wouln't have lived to tell it..

In the "old" US you had this weird thing called "freedom of Speech"... but not enough people used it so it was revoked...
