what are some of the best compressors readily available today?
(and i mean PEDALS not big huge rack/studio things)
the reason i ask is because i'm looking for something that will give me lots of clean sustain with minimal effect on tone...i want sparkly and transparent but still really sustainy....any suggestions?
Art levelar is my favorite for non squishy compression, very warm and natural--- but no footswitch - if your going to leave it on, its great- or you could put it in a looper....

so what kind of settings do u guys use on the Carl Martin to get a tone that is "sparkly and transparent but still really sustainy"? I like the transparency of the Carl Martin and the thick fat bluesy tones i can get, but I'm having trouble finding settings that give some nice singing s u s t a i n. Maybe I'm just dumb...but nevertheless I'm interested in hearing your favorite settings! Thanks
